There was a review of David Friedman songs which contained a lot of comic material, and there's a CD. It's available at the Library for the Performing Arts (if you are in New York), and you can purchase it. He also has a website, www.middermusic.com. There's one song in particular about food that is very funny "If You Love Me, Don't Feed Me," or something like that.
I would actually disagree and say that that's a terrible audition song.
"I'm Fine" - FORUM
"Try Me" - SHE LOVES ME
Is the music for "try me" from she loves me available??
Try Sara Lee from The World Goes Round
It's funny and also gives you a chance to show more of your vocal abilities than most comic songs allow.
"Need to Know" from Weird Romance by Alan Menken.
I assume it is, I have it.
Munk, do you mean "I'm Calm"? Or is that one of the many apocryphal cut songs from that show?

I would actually say that "If You Love Me, Don't Feed Me" could be an excellent comedy audition song, and I would suggest that you try to listen to as many songs suggested on this thread as possible.
If you add choreography to it, "Buddy's Blues" from FOLLIES is great. Also, try and see if you can find any Tom Lehrer songs. He's the guy that wrote "The Element Song" and "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park," stuff like that. His songs are featured in a musical revue of his work called TOMFOOLERY.
I'd advise against doing "Try Me," which is not a comedy song per se and will also make you seem desperate (and don't think they haven't seen a million auditions involving this song before). Also, "I'm Calm" is not very funny either, and will not show off your singing ability at all. I just call it as I see it...
I know plenty of people who have used "I'm Calm" time and and again and gotten work with it.
Tom Lehrer has some hilarious numbers that are definitely going to stand out if nothing else. "Masochism Tango" and "She's My Girl" are certainly ones that I have used in the past. Maybe they work better with a British sensibility!
Anyway some other suggestions would be
Look at Snoopy. I seem to remember Linus has a funny number. Or perhaps it was just the performance that made it funny.
"What Am I Doin?" from Closer than Ever can be hilarious in the right hands.
Oh and I emphatically second "Sara Lee".
thank you evry1. will check them all out :o)

Betrayed is a great song in the show but seeing as its a piss take of Rose's Turn it really isnt suitable as an audition song for the same reasons that Rose's Turn is not a good audition song.
