OK, who can tell me anything about this guy? I keep hearing his name come up in castings--what has he done, and is he talented? Also, he is pretty cute--is he gay/straight, single/not, nice/pompous? I want all the info! Updated On: 11/19/03 at 02:00 AM

I hate to break the news to you, but Aaron Lazar is really a woman.

From what I saw last night at Piazza I can say that he is very talented, he was the perfect fit for that role.

I remember reading on his website that he is a scholar-athlete.
He went to Duke on a scholarship and was pre-med. He discovered theater in college and although did brilliantly on his med. entrance exams was accepted into a prestigious conservatory program and really decided that his passion was musical theater. He also did modelling. HE SOUNDED ALMOST TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE--BUT I GUESS HE'S THE REAL THING!!!
I hoped they would give David Burnham the role...(the understudy). I'm not sure why they didn't.
He was a Raoul u/s in Phantom on Broadway for a couple of months. I think he has a website too.
Aaron is brilliant in Piazza. Better than Morrison, in my (and many of my friends') opinion. I know David Burnham (friend of a friend) and wished they would have given him the role, but, if it couldn't be him, I'm so glad they gave it to someone so well-suited and talented.
I never knew he was a scholar-athlete! What sport did he play?

I really like both Matt and Aaron in the role - but I go with those who vote for Burnham (NOBODY surpasses him as Fabrizio --- at least, not yet...)

I saw LITP with Matt Morrison and so cannot comment on Aaron's performance. I certainly wish him great success--but having just gone back to his website---I am left with my initial impression that it is a bit off-putting. I think Aaron would be better served if he were depicted with a bit more humility. It comes off as a brag sheet. I am in no way demeaning his considerable accomplishments which are front and center in his story. I just think they could be presented in a way that made him more endearing. I have found that the most accomplished people are the least self-impressed. Perhaps, the fault lies with his publicist.
I would be interested in other posters response to his bio ("my story" ) I am glad to hear that people who meet him think he's a mensch which leads me to believe that his personality is not coming actross on his website.

I saw Aaron Lazar in LITP. I liked his voice. I perfer his 'Love to Me' more than Matteo on the cast recording. The problem was he seemed quite 2-D, and there were moments when I wanted to slap him silly. On a side note, he has the most sexiest back I've ever seen.
I am a fan of Aaron Lazar's portrayal of Fabrizio; he's just so adorably awkward in his courtship of Clara, and he has a lovely voice (and yes, a beautiful back). I've seen all three Fabrizios and love all of them, but if I had to choose a favorite, it'd be Matty. I'm going back to the show next weekend, and I can't wait to see how Aaron's grown into the role, because I saw him fairly early on.
