I wouldn't want to see any celebrity in Wicked unless they were up to the very demanding vocals of the two lead roles, particularly Elphaba.

Bette Midler - morrible.

Ugh, there are SO many women who I could see playing Morrible. It's kind of a small part so I can't foresee too many well known actresses taking it on, but I'd love to see Bette, Glenn Close, Liza, Judi Dench, etc.

As for Elphaba, I think they should stick with unknowns. It makes the whole character come alive. If someone famous is up there, I wouldn't really care if the character succeeded. I don't know how to explain it lol. Elphaba is kind of like the underdog. If you have a star playing an underdog, it just isn't as believable lol.

Ok, even though I know she really doesn't fit the role I would just love to hear Jennifer Hudson sing Defying Gravity.

Just got back from seeing the show in SF this weekend, and the understudy for Galinda, Natalie something, was on and was INCREDIBLE! I vote for her.
