Posted: 8/25/04 at 6:04pmShe has a beautiful voice, and she can make herself sound younger and older than her actual age. Example-Roosevelt Petrucius Coleslaw.

Posted: 8/25/04 at 6:45pmlet's not talk about her age. She is very sensitive about it. AND this topic is brought up at least once a week.

Posted: 8/25/04 at 7:03pmReally, why can't posters learn to simply type in "search". We've done this topic already, more than once. Also, "24" yr. olds are not, as a rule, sensitve about their age, unless they're models. Get my drift?

Posted: 8/25/04 at 7:12pmwho cares about her age? But, she is one of the most talented actresses out there. She does looke VERY young in costume though. That may work to her advantage in the future of her career. I thought she was merely a teenager when i saw her reherse I Hate the Bus at the Today Show.

I loved her in From Justin to Kelly...:p
Seriously though, I love how she can change her voice to match the age she is portraying.

Posted: 8/25/04 at 10:08pmShe's sensitive about her age because of the biz, Rath. She's good at playing teens and wants to get away with it for as long as she can.

Rose makes a point to state her age as "somewhere between 15-100" because she wants to have a fair shot at playing a teen if she can look the part and not be put in a particular age grouping that she feels women in the biz are subjected to.
Here's a good interview with her on npr.

Yes..this topic is discussed way to much. Let's move on to more important, new topics.
Why was Mrs. Peter's robbed of the Tony award by Marissa?

Posted: 8/26/04 at 9:33amI highly doubt that she is "sensitive about her age". I believe she's just being smart as a whip and keeping it a secret so that she can continue to work in roles requiring her to look younger than her years. That is why its never a good idea for actresses to tell their age. Its a little different for males in the business, but still a good general rule...why do you think it's against Equity rules to ask somone's age at an audition? (at least that's what I've been told, and I believe it's true)

Posted: 8/26/04 at 9:36amRedhot, that's just federal law. It's against the law to ask someone's age at any kind of job interview.

Posted: 8/26/04 at 9:41amMakes perfect sense to me - especially in the acting forumn. A good actor never reveals his/her age unless they don't care how they are percieved for a particular role.

Posted: 8/26/04 at 10:17amAlthough it may not seem logical, there is the same problem in the corporate workforce. I was concerned about my age when I was out looking for a job in a new field last year. Ageism happens everywhere - it's just more obvious and more accepted a discussed in the acting world.
