re: cast

I was just wondering if anyone knows if Kearran Giovanni is still in the cast. She isn't listed on the website for bare, but you have her listed here. I hope she is.....she is an incredible performer!

re: re: re: cast

Pip - the LA Lucas - was amazing. I can't imagine anyone doing it as well as he did.

yeah i know the show from LA and I think Adam will blow Pip away...he could dance but he doesn't have the greatest of voices.

I don't think anyone would argue your right to an opinion, theatreboy. Coming at this from the outside, though, it strikes me as extremely bad form to usher, see the show for free, and then leap immediately onto a chat board to dismiss the material at the second preview.

As for me, I've heard the score, and could not agree less with your assessment of it. Those who know my posts here know that I am more of a traditional musical kind of person, but I was floored by Bare when I saw a reading of it in February with this cast. I cared about the fate of the characters, and found the show's refusal to grant an easy, happy sentimental ending completely refreshing. I'm very curious what others here will have to say about it.

i've seen the show just under 15 times in LA when it first ran. i saw the NY theatre workshop. i have both CD versions, which i listen to all the time - still.

this is by far the best musical i have ever seen. it gets under your skin in an inexplicable way and you fall in love with the characters. i love the non-happy ending because it's real and it brings tears to your eyes. over and over. the music is amazing, just brilliant. i've seen a lot of shows and i've never loved one of them like i love 'bare'.

I saw the original production in LA several years ago and look forward to seeing what they do with it. The original looked like a grad student project with clunky sets and a zillion unnecessary props that kept getting in the way. I assume there's a new director! Good music and story. Original had a few knockout performances.

I saw it too, many many times..and amidst all the clunking set moving...was an amazing show. And your right aobut the performances..I was AMAZED by Keili Lefkowitz ( Nadia) she was just wonderful...there were nights i found myself just watching her the entire time. and John Torres..was a total hottie..not that its totally important..i mean he was great as peter..i felt for him, loved his voice..but damn..he was a hottie too!!
