So are they trying to bring this back to some sort of life in NYC?
Also, Shoshana....really?!
After all the flack those on the recording got for not being in character enough (and compared to what I saw of the NY production, I agree to some extent), I would really love Doyle and Snyder to get a chance to really become these characters. For being only a recording, I really do love their voices on the Bare CD. So more time to get into the mindset and really act as these characters could possibly be wonderful. But I know a lot of people probably disagree. One thing that will undoubtedly be jarring is having anyone else play Ivy. I'm just so used to Jenna in the role.

The invite-only Manhattan presentation is in anticipation of its San Francisco Bay Area premiere in late fall 2009.
This has nothing to do with an NYC production.

OK, sorry. No need to be snarky!
Is this normal to have an NYC reading of an already-in-existance musical that's going to be happening in San Fran?
I didn't that mean to be, sorry.
I'm wondering if maybe there have been more changes to the material that they just want to test out? I'm going to the reading tomorrow, but I don't think I know the show well enough to pick up on subtle changes, unfortunately.
"Snyder (a Tony Award nominee for Cry-Baby)"
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Snyder most definitely did not get nominated for Cry Baby
yeah, they also say "bare is a cult hit due to its 2007 studio recording"
I have no idea WHY they are doing a reading here to get producers for a SF production. Damon and Jon (from what I hear) are NOT involved in this and therefore they aren't "working" on it. It's an 'as is' licensed production.
But there are many things that I can never figure out!
