I also had this problem. Im getting ready to perform the school edition in February. I first got the Original Broadway Cast Recording, but then with my score for the show the directors gave me the school edition cd from MTI. I would get the Original B-Way but also, if you can, get the school edition cd because there is a lot of different things on that. For example, the Thenardiers split stuff in Master of the House, and the first verse of Stars is cut out. They also tried to take some of the vulgar out of the show.

Plus, when listening, you don't notice ethnicity, just accent (and it's not even a specific accent at that -- thanks, Warlow, for making it a total mix!).
