There was talk earlier this year about the possibility. If I remember correctly, Universal really wants it to happen. Daldry is open to the idea, but said he couldn't figure out how to do it exactly.

Obviously because of the musical aspect...

^ because they seem to be remaking every movie ever made, including those that are already flawless.

I did find this article from MTV (don't know how accurate that makes it) that cam out around the time the show arrived on Broadway. it said that Universal wanted to work with Daldry and Billy Elliot once again, this time as a movie musical. Daldry however didn't say no, he just said that he isn't sure that he wants to think about it at the time the article came out.

Is any one movie flawless? And was any movie they've remade originally flawless?

I'll answer my own question. No.

Yeah, you're right, no movie is flawless. Whatever you're trying to say is right.

What was I thinking when I posted here? I keep forgetting how ridiculous it is.

I saw the movie recently (after seeing the musical) and thought that there were definitely moments where it was crying to "sing." Still, it'll be hard to match the glorious performances by Jamie Bell and Julie Walters. Also, I don't think there's a way to surpass the moment that stands in for "Angry Dance" in the movie, it's a perfect cinematic moment and I don't think "Angry Dance" matches it (though I like the number on stage).
