Um... a friend of mine named her cats Elphaba and Fiyero.

Posted: 4/27/05 at 8:53pmI have a Chihuahua named Roxie. She was born on January 14th, and I think that was teh day Roxie killed Fred, right? I also rode a pony named Fred. Then there are my huinea pigs, Liza and Elphie. BUT! Elphie was for Elephant, because she's grey, and then I saw the show, so it took on a dual meaning.

My friend has cats named Leisl and Frederich, after the kids in The Sound of Music.
I used to have joint-ownership of a tadpole that we named Scott, after Scott Porter (currently in Altar Boyz), but sadly he passed away. Uh... I named the turtles my biology teacher has Roger and Carmen after the characters in The Producers (woah, I feel like I've said that before... did we have a thread like this recently?)
I got my friend to name her new hamster Roger, for Roger Bart, and she's getting a pug and plans on naming it Bernadette, or Bernie, for Bernadette Peters.
Err... I think that's it. Some of those were for actors, rather than characters, I know. Whups.

I had fish named Japheth and Cain after the characters from Children Of Eden. Granted, Cain and Japheth also show up in the Bibel, but I was thinking of Children Of Eden when I named them.

We've had our cat for over a year and a half now (Since September 2003) and we STILL do not have a name for it. How about...Trekkie?

If you wanna name your cat Trekkie Parks, I say go for it!
I have six fish named Mark, Roger, Mimi, Maureen, Collins, and Angel. (I'm thinking on getting another one to name Joanne) It's crazy I know, but I'm a very crazy girl.

Posted: 4/27/05 at 10:13pmMy cat's name is Cosette. Not because she's my favorite character in a musical or anything... I just thought it was a cute name for a little cat.

My roommate's getting a cat. I told her I'd help her hide it if she named it after something we both liked, and she came up with Mimi Candle.
She's a weird one...*shakes head*

At one point I had a Boston Terrier named Roxie, a lab named Velma and a male cat named Mary Sunshine.
Now I have a Pu-Wawa (Pug and Chihuahua mix) named Sandy. I adopted her to play her namesake when I played Rooster in "Annie" last year. It was meant to be - my poor baby was scheduled to be put to sleep the morning after I saw her. She's a mess. Such a spoiled diva brat...

P.S. - I also have a fish named "Seymour II" who appeared in my dressing room a few years ago when I played Seymour in "Little Shop".

I had a grey/black striped tabby for 9 years named Eponine. I rescued her from an animal shelter in Sarasota, FLorida that I volunteered with my first year in art school. I was wearing a Les Mis t-shirt at the time...so I figured that would be a good name. Everyone that knew her just called her "Ep". She died in 2001 from advanced feline kidney disease. I've missed her a great deal!

Broadwaybaby, I have a tuxedo cat... although when I got him I was too young to name him anything like that :) He's "Lucky" after one of the 101 dalmations, and he has a "madona mole"

Well, we got 2 of our cats when CATS was broadcast on PBS. So . . . Mr. Mistopheles and Grizabella (and they look just like them). But we got 2 more when Clay and Ruben were the final 2 on Idol, so we have a Clay and Ruben.
We also used to have a Martha Graham dog and a Twyla Tharpe dog.

I also had a cat for 18 years named for playwrite Rebecca Ranson. I've been awaiting for the right animal for the names Lanford and Wasserstein for years.
