i was just wondering if anyone could tell me the vocal ranges for the major characters in carousel. thanks!

I think it's

Julie & Carrie - Soprano
Nettie Fowler - Mezzo
Billy & Mr. Snow - Tenor
Jigger - Baritone

Go to www.stageagent.com They usually have all the ranges for the characters in shows... and they have to have Carousel...

Billy - High baritone, goes up to a G
Julie - I've seen both altos and sopranos do this role. Goes up to an F below high C.
Carrie - Alto or soprano who can mix. Needs to hit a G below high C near the end of "Mr. Snow".

Billy is a through and through baritone role, though I HAVE seen it played by a tenor (patrick Wilson). Its ounds better with a baritone though.
