there has been speculation, and i just wanted any kind of confirmation or anything. i'm going to school in new york in the fall and i'm curious.
i was also just in a production of eden, and i fell in love with the show and would LOVE to see what is done with it on broadway.
any information will be helpful!
yes, i did search and did not find the information i was looking for.
thanks a lot and happy tony night!
CAPS are fun!
Producers wanted to bring a similar Papermill version to Broadway.
They offered Schwartz the chance to bring it to Bway, if he worked with the creative team to scale it down.
He refused.
According to Schwartz himself, he doesn't want to ever scale it down.
So that's basically a NO to your question.
BEEP.
I'm sorry, BroadwayWorld is only accepting threads relating to the Tonys tonight. Please try again in the morning.
Thank you.
dramaqueen2 - I do remember reading that they were going to mount a full broadway production of Children of Eden I thought in the upcoming season. Partially because of the crazy success of Wicked they're interested in Schwartz's other works. I'd suggest checking out steve schwartz's fan sites
i sort of agree with schwartz, it shouldn't be scaled down, i think it would lessen the impact of the show.
hey idina, there is life outside of the tony's!
anyway, thank you!
edit: and thanks, i will check the fan sites!
Just a joke dramaqueen2.
I actually would love a production of Children of Eden on broadway.

But that doesn't mean it's not coming...
He was offered to bring it to Broadway.
He said no.
They told him it would never come unless it was scaled down.
Costs are too high, as it is currently written (including a full orchestra and huge "Angel" choir) for a budget that is not economically reasonable for Broadway.
He said he would never scale it down.
It's not coming. If it ever does, send me a hat and I will eat it. But it's not happening. Sorry!

I'm gonna need your address and a hat. What kind do you want to eat? baseball cap, cowboy hat?
Don't waste your time.
According to Schwartz himself, the musical is not coming to Broadway.

A few months ago.
But this whole COE exchange (between him and the potential investors) happened almost 3 years ago.
It's old news. Nothing has changed.
