"Let us know when they win those nominations, won't you?"
Well, I'm fairly certain that CB will win one for choreography and A Catered Affair will win nothing.
And since pigs are flying according to all of you , maybe it will win the big enchilada. Now that would be a good time, no?

As a follow up to my last message, what if, just if, Xanadu, PS and ITH split the votes evenly among the Tony voters and then CB slips in there out of nowhere?
OH JOY. Chew on that one - let's start a thread. Just think, hell might freeze over that day too. The Boards will be so fun. We can only hope . . .

wescoast - there is no way CRY BABY beats out IN THE HEIGHTS for choreography.
there's also no way CRY BABY wins best musical. I promise to eat all of your hats, if it does.
congrats to CRY BABY for getting 4 nominations. but they're simply nominations... not award.

TD Hot:
Let's take it offline and bet on that choreography Tony. My boy Ashford has it in the bag.

I couldn't decide whether to add Cry Baby into my schedule and I am glad I did because after it winning 4 nominations I am certainly intrigued by this show.
I am going to go in with an open mind but I admit that when I saw how many noms it had received I simply couldn't believe it.
From reading reviews and posts on this board I really thought that it only had the chance of perhaps a choreographer nom.
Oh boy...

Thank you, JayStarr and others.
And BrianS, regarding Xanadu not playing big houses because it would get lost in them, back when Julie Harris was in the national tour of "Driving Miss Daisy" it played here in Pittsburgh in the 2,300 seat Benedum Center.

IMO
I'm not surprised. CRY BABY was easily the most successful show creatively and for my money the most entertaining. The choreography alone is better than anything in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN or A CATERED AFFAIR. The former was too big and clunky, and the latter a complete borefest. I saw all 3 shows out of town. The $48 bucks spent on CRY BABY was a bargain compared to the $100 for YF!
