Well, whatever happens happens. One thing we can say for sure is that the cast has been working hard and I hope they have a great opening night and fun at the after-party.
Break a leg, guys.

Posted: 4/23/08 at 10:42pmThe rumor is that Brantley did leave during intermission--along with half the audience.

Brantley did leave during curtain call. He usually does...and at the Marquis its wise to leave. Otherwise your stuck trying to get out.
And I wanted to leave as quickly as possible last night...

It's true. Carol adores me.
On the other hand, Corine 2 loathes me. Hoever the feelings are mutual.

Trust me, we're gonna be reading some scathing verbiage when this turkey opens.
BTW: Does anyone know if Michael Riedel adores me? I think he's hot!

Say kids, let's play "What Will Brantley Say?"!
Here's what I think:
"CRY-BABY sure works hard at convincing the audience that it is the next HAIRSPRAY. Insert exceedingly clever way of saying the show sucks. Sucks hard."
Now let's play "What Will Matthew Murray Say?"!
"The best musical on Broadway this season."

What?
"Am I crazy or was there not an announcement about a closing date for Cry-Baby?"
Yes and yes. We decided not to tell you. We figured you were already imbalanced enough.
"I may be crazy haha"
Yes you are haha
With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
"Not Barker, Todd is the only person I've ever known who could imitate Katherine Hepburn...in print." -nmartin-

Posted: 4/24/08 at 12:17amsaw it tonight. the show was heavily papered tonight and there were four empty rows behind me. it was the worst thing i've seen in a long time. cast was great, well some of them, but the show itself is awful. i feel bad for the cast because they are really working hard! The male dancers are AMAZING!
#23re: cry baby opens on the 24 of april
Posted: 4/24/08 at 12:23amI really do not get the intense loathing of this show. I see why people have a few issues with it, but the bashing is just so relentless. Expressing an opinion is fine when you have a point, but just popping into every single Cry Baby thread to say "this show sucks I hate it hahah!" is just...lame.

thanks Not barker, Todd.
The *ahem* is because I wasn't sure and I didn't want to step on any toes.
and I googled it... but nothing came up for the closing date? But anyway... I have nothing really against this show, I just have no desire to see it (although I do agree with mjcallahan's comment about the male dancers... they do look amazing).
