"come back in some time when someone remembers"
What the hell are you talking about!?!?! I am trying to forget! you guys are the ones that ALWAYS bring it up when i post something on another thread that has absolutely nothing to do with this issue! i never say anything about it, but you guys always find a way to loop it back around and use it against me. Example: on the "worst opening numbers" thread, i listed a few show openings that i liked and a few that i didn't, and one of the ones that i didn't was SA. but you just couldn't take that, could you!?! NO, you had to bring up the past and make stupid comments like "lizzy's just farting around that fact that she hates SA", etc. etc. that is sooo stupid! just let posts stand alone and FORGET THE PAST! i am NOT the one that brings up the past, YOU are! you are the one that keeps remembering! i just post stuff that has nothing to do with this AT ALL and you can't seem to get your tiny little heads out of the past! LIVE IN THE NOW!!!
and i use caps to suggest YELLING, which is what i would do if we were talking in person!

I think you have a "tiny little head" because you obviously do not understand what we are saying. You make ridiculous comments and change your mind for bizarre reasons, and then defend yourself with explosive posts...it's not easy to forget a poster like that.
Edited for grammar.

Your posts are still idiotic so that is why nobody will forget them. It is not about you like Spring Awakening its about you not even seeing the show and saying its "the worst show of all time." You tell people to **** off just because they said something to you. It's not easy to forget somebody like you who constantly thredjacks just because you made more unreasonable statement about Spring Awakening.
You made a post in the "Unpopular Opinions" thread saying ladies like Chits Rivera, Gwen Verdon, and Donna McKechnie weren't talented.Even thought it was in the unpopular opinions thread it is still dumb because, I highly doubt you have seen any of these ladies live or are familiar with their work. These women are theater legends and you to say the things you did about them were absolutely absurd.
A statement like this:"I think that Tarzan (and every other Disney show) are the greatest shows in Broadway history" sounds idiotic because you haven't seen many show or any of the show you think are the best.

I sent this to Lizzya a while ago but I am not sure if she ever read it so I am reposting it, so she can read it!
if you've listened to the cast recording, watched every single video and interview, read every article, and research every person involved with a show, you have to right to say whatever you want about it
You don't have any right to say whatever you want about a show that YOU NEVER SAW. SO YOU ARE WRONG! I suggest that you stop talking period, because you have just proved yourself to be a complete dumbass. That is like me saying that since I have read every single thing about Britney Spears, and bought all her CD's, and watched every TV interview and film she has been in, I can tell you exactly what she is like. But I can't and neither can you. You have not seen the show, you have not read the script, you can't tell me what the line Jane says in Act Two about the spider is. And if you researched every person in the show you still can't! Because their personal lives have nothing to do with the show and are none of your damn business. So you need to Shut the hell Up and really watch what you say.
Love,
Ned

Posted: 3/14/07 at 9:35pmthat thread is "unpopular opinons" for a reason...you can't get mad about those. that is what i believe and stop getting mad at me for my personal opinions. even if i haven't seen a show, i have the right to say whatever i want about them because this is a free country. why can't you just let people post what they want to say, espcially in a thread that is ABOUT unpopular opnions! get over yourself, you don't rule this message board. as i have said before, can we PLEASE just get along and not get mad at what someone else thinks!?!?! i am not insulting you when i say i don't think Chita is very talented. so don't get mad, it has NOTHING to do with you!! let people post what they want, it is not affecting you in any way.

Lizzy, that is fine if you just said you aren't a fan of the SA cast recording. As someone who rarely is able to go up to NY to see shows, that is how I know most shows.
But.... when you continually bash the show, over and over, it gets childish and immature. And with every post, you dig yourself further into that hole. Good luck digging yourself out.
And for the record... when you say Chita, Gwen and Donna aren't talented, you kill a kitten.

Uhm, Lizzya...I have a serious question. I'm not being sarcastic, this is COMPLETELY serious:
What makes you think that Chita, Donna, & Gwen are overated? What are you judging them on? Especially the fact that Gwen died probably before you were even born...
Edited for spelling.

PLEASE!!!!!!! stop being mean! you people are so cruel. ever heard of freedom of speech?! let people have their own opnions without being completely attacked! just PLEASE treat me as an equal! stop insulting me! i have done nothing to you people. this is so frustrating. i thought I had found a community of fellow theatre geeks who like broadway and stuff and chat about shows and performers. but i guess not. I guess this is a place where cruel people can come to bash innocent people with opinions. please make this an enjoyable place! don't be mean or get mad at someone because they don't have the exact same opnion as you do! and i don't continually bash SA!! THAT WAS IN THE PAST!
and i didn't say those girls weren't talented. read my post, i did not use those words. I just don't think they should be considered "legends", or whatever. they got cast in a new show that just happened to become popular. they are the same as any performer, they are not more special or more talented. they just got cast in a new show that took off and got them notice. if they had decided to not go to that audition that day and some other girl got it, things would be the exact same as they are now, except with a different name. it's all luck. they are no better than anyone else. gwen and donna were both dating their directors. chita is a good dancer but her singing is not phenomenal. not to say it's not great, but it's as good as anyone on Broadway.

With an industry founded on luck, anyone lucky enough to have such success as Rivera, et al, deserve to be denoted legends, especially when they kept up great careers...especially the Rivera and Verdon. Plus...they had great talent.
But really...everyone who is successful was in the right place at the right time, no matter what career they work in.

Posted: 3/14/07 at 10:06pmi know that they were in great shows and won tony's. but that could have happened to anyone! there are plenty of incredible performers out there that are as good as or better than them but can't get there for various reasons. most performers on broadway are tony-worthy, they just don't get the chance to play those roles.
#42re: current events....
Posted: 3/14/07 at 10:09pmI'm just saying if Gwen decided to skip out on the Damn Yankees audition, she'd still be just as much of a LEGEND.

That's right...but these people DID, and because their successes were so amazing, they are remembered for their work.
Actors who are not getting their big breaks look up to these legends, and hope to aspire to their notoriety.

"i know that they were in great shows and won tony's. but that could have happened to anyone!"
No, it couldn't.
"most performers on broadway are tony-worthy, they just don't get the chance to play those roles."
It's the performer that makes the role. There is no women women like Donna,Gwen and Chita out there anymore. There aren't dancing stars like they were.

Posted: 3/15/07 at 12:18amActors are not interchangable parts. The best are truly unique, and elevate their roles above and beyond what the off-stage creative talents have offered them. If Lizzya9 thinks that any good actor can be inserted for another and the result will be the same, that goes a long way in explaining her love of the Disney assembly line approach to theater. (Which is not to say there are never any gifted people involved in Disney productions...)

teka-
amen! I have seen SA, tried to love it, but feel more passionately about Grey Gardens. (And that basically backs up your criticism of Lizzy's belief that actors are interchangeable parts! They aren't and no one demonstrates that better than Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson. I happen to believe the actors are as important, if not more so, than the director. I adore 'actor's directors' who allow the roles to go where they are meant to go and allow the actors to connect with their roles and craft them.)
Sorry, Lizzy-I feel your pain but actors aren't cogs in a machine.
PS-make INFORMED decisions, please. I've tried to keep my mouth shut on this, but I can't.

"they are the same as any performer, they are not more special or more talented. they just got cast in a new show that took off and got them notice."
Maybe they got cast because they suited the roles better than the other people who tried out, not necessarily because the roles were good. A lot of a role's success has to do with what the actors decide to do with it. There's a reason why awards are given to best actors and actresses, not best male and female roles in a show.
