She is currently in the new Sondheim Musical BOUNCE in Chicago. She will continue with that at the Kennedy Center in October (I believe; don't quote me on the date)
I don't know what's in the works for her after that though....

Christopher Sieber - Jaime *The Last Five Years*
It'd be interesting to see how Lauren Kennedy would tackle "My Strongest Suit" with her unique vocal techniques. I never knew screeching could becoming a wonderful form of belting. I used to hate her voice, but now I'm a convert. Lauren for Amneris.

DREAM CASTING:
Now that LITTLE SHOP is being re-cast...
Roger Bart as Seymour (much more appealing than Hunter Foster -- and a stronger singer/actor)
Kristin Chenoweth as Audrey (although Alice Ripley was a fine choice)
Lillias White as the voice of Audrey II

Do you mean La Cage Aux Folles?? Aren't Albin and Georges characters in that musical??
I'm confused!!!!
Meanwhile, regarding the discussion about who is more famous: Bernadette Peters or Patti LuPone ... I think you must take into consideration Patti's years on LIFE GOES ON, which was a huge hit. There's nothing to compare to a television audience to make someone known. I'd say they're about equal, with completely different demographics. As far as talent and acting, though, I have to side with Patti. I do think Bernadette is knocking it out of the park playing Rose -- she's phenomenal if what my friends tell me is true and if that one number from the Tony's can be believed. Nevertheless, BP is known as a singer first. Patti studied at Julliard and does as many straight roles as musicals.
Dream Roles:
1. Patti LuPone as Maria Callas in a musical version of Master Class
2. Bernadette Peters in an adaptation of the Betty Boop cartoons or the life story of Helen Kane (the voice of BB)
3. Norm Lewis in anything. The man's voice is phenomenal
4. Patti LuPone as Mrs. Lovette in SWEENEY TODD
5. Christine Andreas as Fantine in LES MISERABLES or anything where she would get to belt. Another unbelievable voice
6. Judy Kuhn as Dolly Levi -- can you imagine her Don't Rain on My Parade??? WOW!!!
... that's all for now ... great topic!!!
