the storage of booze, soda, candy, sugary stuff, etc. has always been a problem in the ancient Bway temples, however, ya never know when the surprise health inspections will occur.

Why do you think the drinks are so expensive? They add the mouse droppings and roaches...a hot commodity.

My friend said that when he went to see Into The Woods a few years ago (I assume it was the revival) at the Broadhurst, he saw rats running down the aisle.
I assume most theatres have pest issues. They're old buildings and darkly lit. There are no excuses for having these issues at the bar, but I don't think I could even count on one hand the number of times I've had to deal with mice and cockroaches backstage at some theatres here in San Diego.

I remember once I was singing on stage during a tech rehearsal and the lights changed to mostly back lights. Down on the floor I saw the shadow of a rat walking on the lighting cables above me.
