I'm more perplexed by why Ben's cook would answer his fan mail as opposed to his personal assistant or Ben himself. What's up with that?

He's a young ensemblist, most recently in Tuck Everlasting and Mean Girls, and he's joining the Spielberg WSS remake.
Hordes of teenage girls are obsessed with him and have stalked him to the point where he's genuinely terrified of his fans. Poor kid.
Edit: and to answer OP's question, no, he does not respond to fan mail.

Completely off-topic, but why do teenage girls love Tuck Everlasting so much? I found it bland and boring, and that might be being generous.
