Sorry about the triple post...my computer had been going slow, so I thought the clicking might speed things up.
I just heard Jessica Stone perform a song...it was called "I Can't Stop Talking About This Man" or something of the sort. It was very fast and seemed very difficult to sing. Also, there's a song called "Oh, I've Been Everywhere" (or, once again, something to the sort) in which the singer repeats all the places he/she has been...only faster and faster with each verse. That's the song...it's pretty funny.
"You Can't Stop the Beat" and "Fast" are the first ones that come to my mind.

Pretty darn fast.
The last half of "All for the Best" Godspell.
But I think "Modern Major General" has the most words per minute.

I love listening to fast songs. After you memorize them and can sing them, they are extra fun lol
Parts of "La Vie Boheme" and "Today 4 U" from Rent
"Closed for Renovations" from LSOH
"Married Today" from Company
"Rock Island" and "Ya Got Trouble" from the Music Man
"We Can Do It" from the Producers
"Dancing is not a Crime" from Footloose
The end of "To Life" from Fiddler
Those are my favorites.
There are lots of others, but Therapy from TTB immediately comes to mind.
'Fast'-Zanna, Don't
While not THE fastest, "The Worst Pies In London" should qualify. Especially the "Wait/what's your rush/what's your hurry..." part.

Actually, the tempo at the beginning of "Worst Pies" is MUCH faster on the original cast album than it actually was on stage. If you look at the video, you'll see Ms. Lansbury doing it at a slower pace.
I just watched the video actually, and didn't notice. Haha, now you're going to make me go watch it again...
I can't remember the title of the song, but the mother in "no way to treat a lady" sings VERY fast
o.k., NOWWWW I can tell. I'm pretty sure that Patti LuPon goes faster in the concert version.
Having had to sing Your Fault when I was in Into the Woods, I'll say that was one of the most demanding songs to learn.
Ya Got Trouble just sucks...some of the notes that are written for the sopranos are ridiculous

I just remembered another one: "Who's Got Extra Love?" from Zanna, Don't! Only some parts of it, though, and it's not really fast so much as it is confusing. I mean, all that overlapping...there's no way I could ever do that. Meh, there go my dreams of getting a sex change and being in Zanna, Don't!

Some of these are hardly really fast:
Closed for renovation?
You can't stop the beat isnt really fast its just a lot of words crammed into a small amount of measures (if that makes any sense--too many syllables?). Nothing compares to not getting married. Except for maybe the millie typing test.
'You Can't Stop The Beat' is particularly brutal because of all the fast paced dancing as well. We performed this number for our Show Choir at school, and let me tell you, there was probably like three people who were singing with their full voice by the end of the number because it's so wordy, fast, and you're moving around like a lunatic. That song was the biggest workout I've ever had. I felt like dying by the end.

Portions of "The Book Report" from You're a Good Man CB are pretty darn fast.
Judas' part at the end of ALL FOR THE BEST in Godspell

ha the book report is an opkay one--the "Peter Rabbit" part is the tricky one methinks, oh and the counting one when she's counting the words.
