re: favorite musical/movie?

Such an unfair question.

Favorite: Moulin Rouge

Honorable Mention: Chicago

Runner-Up: Funny Girl

Must Include: The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz

Alright I admit - I can't decide.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

LOVE THAT!!! They did it better than I ever would have thought it would be. I would have to say Rent. I just didn't like the fact that they cut a lot of the songs and Mark and Rodger's fight.

I'd have to divide this intom sections
1950s: Singin in the Rain
1960s: West Side Story
1970s: Cabaret
1980s: All That Jazz
1990s: None (Evita could have been better)
2000s: Chicago

I love Little Shop of Horrors! I used to watch that movie on repeat when I was a little kid. Moulin Rouge & Chicago are great as well.
