Lately, I've been listening to Auitami a lot. However, Dividing Day was the song that drew me into the show. My list would have to be:
1. Fable
2. Autami
3. Dividing Day
4. The Beauty Is
I love the lyrics to Autami, although I thought that was a cop-out how the mother started to talk in English.

I listen to the entire CD as one long symphony of beautiful sound. I thought about trying to pick a favorite, and if I had to pick I would say the title song just because Kelli is sooo beautiful singing every note, but then I listen to Say It Somehow and I have doubts about my choice! I can't choose! Every song is a necessary part of this amazing whole! I love it, I love it, I love it!
The key to the mystery of a great artist is that for reasons unknown, he will give away his energies and his life just to make sure that one note follows another... and leaves us with the feeling that something is right in the world.

Aiutami is my absolute absolute FAVORITE. But now I can't seem to skip ANY of the songs, and the CD just ends too soon!
This is my signature.

Aiutami, Say it Somehow, and The Beauty Is. But honest to god, this entire score is just beautiful.

I've come to the conclusion that Dividing Day and Say it Somehow should really be covered by some widely recognized pop singer (and I'm not going to even begin to try to get into the issue of whom that might be!)...but those two songs have such a great crossover feel. I have a feeling that a LOT of people will be doing those songs in their cabaret acts in the very near future.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I've tried to choose my favorite song from this show before, but I honestly can't, so let's say I love the whole damn thing and leave it at that.

The Beauty Is!!!
ldkfsjldkjldkf!!
I love it so.
It's ...perfect. The Richard Rodger's 50's melody plus Sondheim piano and lyrics.Damn, if I had the ability to write the perfect song it would sound like that.

Let's Walk is a really great song that I don't think comes across very well on the album. I like Mark Harelik alright, but he and Vicki don't blend very well which undercuts the effectiveness of the number.
And I'd be hard-pressed to name a better written song than Dividing Day. It's a perfect marriage of melody, rhythm, lyrics, and character.

I agree, rainin. My top 2 favorites are Say It Somehow and Dividing Day, but seriously? i like just about the whole CD. I can't seem to stop listening to it. Lately it's had a permanent place in my CD player.
Some of my other favorites from the show include:
The Beauty Is
Let's Walk
The Light in the Piazza
The Beauty Is (Reprise) makes me cry
Fable
Love To Me
Oh gosh... so beautiful. I would kill to see that show.

favorite song... one favorite? impossible. I am in love with my Piazza CD; it's pretty much the only thing I've listened to since I got it a few days ago. Absolutely amazing. there is something about almost every song on the CD that just amazes me. It's an incredibly beautiful score, and I'm so glad I finally bought the CD. I think out of all the songs, I've listened to Fable the most- the melody is fantastically gorgeous, and the lyrics... wow. The whole CD, really, is a treasure, and makes me wish I lived closer to New York so I could experiance this amazing score live.
