Posted: 1/13/05 at 2:44pmI don't know if I'd classify Meadow Lark as a Soprano song--more of a Mezzo/Belter kind of thing. I was going to say definitely JRB's Christmas Lullaby as well. I also love Whats the Use of Wonderin' from Carousel. Lovely tunes.

Gotta love anything from "Songs for a New World" especially "Christmas Lullaby" and "Flagmaker, 1776". You should also take a look at Kristin's song from "Steel Pier" (Can't remember the name right now). Also, "You were meant for Me" from Audra's CD.

Oooh, I love most of these songs! More favorites from my voice folder:
Mira-- Carnival (Yes, My Heart is also gorgeous)
I Remember-- Evening Primrose
I'd Rather Be Sailing-- A New Brain
Not a Day Goes By (Act One)-- Merrily We Roll Along
Moonfall-- The Mystery of Edwin Drood
Will He Like Me?-- She Loves Me
Soon-- A Little Night Music
I'll Know-- Guys and Dolls
Children of the Wind-- Rags
I'll admit-- I'll use tenor songs as well. Johanna (Sweeney Todd) and Maria (West Side Story) are my favorites, although I don't think I'd use them in an audition setting quite yet.
