ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not:
"Hedwig & The Angry Inch."
Now THAT'S what I call a movie musical.
Not on Broadway, but I very much enjoyed the stage production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in London. The movie was one of my favorites as a child, and I liked the way they adapted the story to the stage, making changes that I thought improved the storyline.
Ditto re Chicago & West Side Story
Chicago

I hate movies and wish they would stop making them!
Hairspray has been my favorite movie for like 10 years!! Everyone laughed at me, but then it became a musical and suddenly it's the greatest thing. I have yet to see the musical though.

Yes, I know the movie was horrible in comparison to the show, but I have to love it for Vicki Frederick as Sheila

Gonna have to say the film version of "A Funny Thing Happenend on the Way to the Forum". Zero Mostel is a big, fat, sweaty beautiful, mess. Not to mention the cameo by Buster Keaton. The film is just absolutely absurd in its presentation. In no way is it good, but's it a great psychedelic laugh fest...especially when polluted...

How many times do we have to ask this question?? I like "Newsies."
FUNNY GIRL!
Little Shop of Horrors
Chicago
Caberet
The Producers (I liked the movie better than the show)
Choosing to ignore future comments that may come from Dollypop and a couple of other people who will completely dissagree with me, I love the film version of "Hello, Dolly!"
Also:
Chicago
My Fair Lady
Funny Girl
The Sound of Music
And again, will ignore any comments towards this one...Mame. Though I would have preferred Angela in the role, I love Lucy! no pun intended. lol

I forgot, I also love that Thoroughly Modern Millie was adapted into a staged production.
