#1"fun" song for a memorial service

I have a friend who has terminal cancer. She has asked my high school choir to sing something "fun" at her memorial service.  I am at a loss for something appropriate. Any suggestions that would uplift her husband, sons, and 80 year old mother would be greatly appreciated.

Joe Iconis' "The Goodbye Song" seems like a perfect choice. Appropriately solemn lyrics, but with a relentlessly upbeat refrain. It is a song that can be interpreted in more than one way, including as a celebration of a life.

if your choir can sing it, Walk Him Up the Stairs from PURLIE - or in your friend's case, Walk Her Up the Stairs

For some reason, the first song that came to mind was, "Now's the Time" from HALLELUJAH, BABY!

The one I'd probably want performed at my memorial were I suffering the same fate is Hey There Good Times from I Love My Wife.  My father's choice was I'm on My Way from Paint Your Wagon, so when he passed away from cancer in January 2011, we blasted it to shake the windows.

Not sure it would qualify as "fun", but I love Anytime from Elegies by William Finn. What a moving and beautiful song about finding someone in the simple things in life after they've passed on.

Tread lightly on this one, your group could just create a giant gaffe trying to be "fun" at a memorial service, regardless of what the nearly departed says.
