Last night, as a part of 20at20, my partner and I attended, iLuminate. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much and only included it on my list of 20at20 shows because I'm working towards the 7 shows free dinner.

I was pleasantly surprised. iLuminate is good. At times, very good. Yes, its sort of gimmicky, but the dancing was superb and the technology used (the gimmick) was very creatively applied. There were lots of really cool images the dancers were able to create by manipulating the lighting. And, there was a story and theme, which I wasn't expecting at all.

I think sometimes I can be a theater snob and look down on such offerings. I'm really glad that I stumbled into iLuminate and recommend it to anyone who is looking to sit through a dazzling dance concert.

Agreed! I was really impressed by the dancing, and of course all the "how did they do that?!" moments with the technology.

I really want to see this! Is the running time 50 minutes or 55 minutes, or do you know? (I've seen conflicting notes, and sadly that 5 minutes may make a difference to whether I can see it... or how fast I have to run to make it somewhere after the show. iLuminate: where's the love?)

I didn't immediately turn back on my phone, which means I didn't see the time when it ended. I will say that we lingered to see the cast come out and take photos. Even though I wasn't interested in taking a photo, I did want to see the performers under different lighting conditions. They were all adorable and very gracious. I really enjoyed iLuminate. Go see it!

It will run just under an hour. I'd say more like 58 minutes.

Is this a family-friendly show? I'm thinking it might be a good show for my 8 year old granddaughter. Any nudity or objectionable language?

Thankfully Loretta Swit has left the production so all the profanity and sexuality have been excised as they only exist in the version she performed, so you're okay dollypoop.
