which would you have picked? to originate a new part or to play eponine, a part that many girls have on their "dream role" list?

Posted: 12/18/06 at 7:47pmWell, she's 20 now, and she created the role of Wendla at 14 and has been working on it since. So obviously she was going to remain with SPRING AWAKENING. She had already been in the real LES MIS anyway.

She made the right choice, though probably getting a little less $ for SPRING. (I'm guessing SA actors are getting a favored nations kind of pay, since they are all fairly new.)
It's a new role in a new musical insted of a tired one in a tired one.

true, she couldn't know this then and may not even know it now but Lea IS in a part that will soon be a dream role of many girls.

Anyway, I think Michele made the right choice, considering she was involved with the show since the beginning, for 6 years.

having listened to the spring awakening soundtrack (i'm seeing it on saturday), i like lea better than celia and think lea would have been better vocally at eponine than celia is....but i can't wait and i think i'm gonna agree and say spring awakening
because even though eponine is a part on so many people's dream lists, it really (in my opinion) is not the greatest role written for a young female in musical theater. there are so many better parts
but yeah, i'm pumped to see spring awakening!!!

Tony nom? Really? I really can't see her getting into the toughest category of the year...
Nothing against her, but she wasn't singled out by critics the way the other leading ladies have (and will).

Go to broadway with the bargain basement revival of Les Miz or with a groundbreaking NEW musical in a role that you helped CREATE? No-brainer.
Could you imagine how she would have felt if Spring Awakening exploded without her?
She's 20. She'll have plenty of time to play Eponine again. Hey at the rate those dumb producers are going they'll probably bring Les Miz back AGAIN 3 years after it closes this time.
Oh wait - Lea might be too OLD by then according to the dopey teens on the Wicked Movie thread. Idiots.
Anyway - can't wait to smell Lea on Christmas Eve! Hope she sits next to me!

Yeah, if she's been the role for like 6 or 7 years, I don't see why she wouldn't stick with SPRING AWAKENING
