It's inevitable, just a matter of when.

I'm sure it will make a transfer to Broadway when Disney is able to secure a venue.
"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." all signs currently point to Fall 2015 at the Nederlander Theater. But things could always change.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I keep seeing on these boards that Hunchback will go to the Nederlander in the fall. But why? Because Newsies was there and it's across from Aladdin? There are many more shows on deck before Hunchback. I assume it will come in soon but they may do a larger re-do/ retool before NY like they did with Aladdin.

I'm not sure if Disney would risk having 3 shows on Broadway all at the same time. It seems like too much Disney and might take away from Aladdin's sales (The Lion King probably wouldn't be affected). I know Hunchback is a much different show than Aladdin, but the average tourist might not.

Yes but Aladdin did well and is still is even with Newsies being across the street

Hadn't Newsies already posted its closing notice by time Aladdin came in? Also, Newsies is no longer on Broadway, so that kind of helps my point.

Disney has frequently had 3 shows on Broadway:
2000 - 2004: Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King & Aida.
May 2006 - Oct. 2006: Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King & Tarzan.
(4 shows)Nov. 2006 - July 2007: Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King, Tarzan & Mary Poppins.
Jan. 2008 - Aug. 2009: The Lion King, Mary Poppins & The Little Mermaid.
Mar. 2012 - Mar. 2013: The Lion King, Mary Poppins & Newsies.
Feb. 2014 - Aug. 2014: The Lion King, Newsies & Aladdin.
Fall 2015??: The Lion King, Aladdin & Hunchback??

THE FOLLOWING IS PURE SPECULATION AND IS BASED ON NO FACTUAL EVIDENCE
Ok so there is no guarantee that Hunchback will take THE Nederlander, just A Nederlander theater. My guess is it will take either the Nederlander or The Palace, possibly the Neil Simon . The reason I didn't say the Lunt is because my theory is that Aladdin (assuming it maintains its popularity) will move to the Lunt in 2017, so that Disney can have the New Amsterdam for Frozen in 2017. The Brooks seems too small for Hunchback, the Minskoff/Gershwin and most likely the Rodgers will be taken, and I don't think Disney would put one of their shows in the Marquis, due to location. So that would leave the Simon, the Palace, or the Nederlander. Time will tell! I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts!

Oh wow thank you I just now realize I have been spelling Nederlander wrong for a really long time...

It's gonna be in the Brooks or the nederlander. They'd be crazy to put it in the palace

I mean they put Aida at the Palace, why wouldn't Hunchback work there?

Plans are for Broadway early fall or so after Paper Mill and heard that the producers want the Nederlander

Robbie2, I'm just a little curious. When you see a thread, do you actually read the other replies or just jump to the end to give your answer without reading the thread?

It's not nearly as large a production as Aida was. It would get lost in the Palace.

This is one of only three things that would tempt me to buy a plane ticket to NYC. So I'm waiting and watching.
Why don't you go? Why don't you leave Manderley? He doesn't need you... he's got his memories. He doesn't love you, he wants to be alone again with her. You've nothing to stay for. You've nothing to live for really, have you?

Of tangential importance: When/if Hunchback comes to Broadway, will Schwartz finally snag a Tony? I've always felt the Hunchback score is the strongest music he's ever written.

It is his best score. Too bad it gets dragged through the mud with this crap production.

Only if there is enough original music expressly written for the show. Anything written for the film would not be considered.

Hahah it's only Schwartz's strongest score because he didn't write it. Menken did.

"Crap producton"? I don't know what you saw but there was nothing crap about this production. It is designed beautifully, sung and acted wonderfully and the most moving show I have seen in a while. And Arden is giving one of the best performances you will see on any coast. Go to Papermill and see for yourself.
