Ouch, that clip is...interesting. I'm not sure I've ever heard her sing live before that. I've actually heard worse live from big pop singers, but yea, not good. At least she sounds something like what you hear on her recorded music I guess. Just off key and out of tune.
I had a ticket to see Britney during her London concerts but gave it up to go to New York instead, I couldn't afford to do both.
I used to love Britney when I was younger - I'm 21 so she hit big with Baby One More Time when I was the right age to be omg totally obsessed crazy about her, she was my first 'girl crush' so to speak, so I wanted to go see her on this tour because I was never able to when I was younger. I started not really caring about seeing her when it all came out about her half hearted dancing and lack of energy (as a ex-dancer, I really loved her dance routines back in the day).
"Britney fans seem to be under some strange spell where they think that an artist moving her lips to a track for 2 hours is fine because "shes pulled herself together now"
I agree with this, I don't think you've 'pulled yourself together' just because you can walk through some dance moves in front an audience, especially when there is no attempt to cover the fact that she is miming. I hate that as a defence for her, why do people seem to expect less of her before she's deemed as brilliant.
And SoonerOrLater - No jumping on you from this Idina fan (yes, I said it, I'm out of the closet here now), I have no problems admitting that Tony performance was awful and she has serious problems with her breathing sometimes. I do actually think Britney's is worse in that clip though, sounds like she's running whilst singing. Or having sex.
Just got to the end of the performance clip. Ouch.
Oh and to those on about Lady Gaga and her bizarre performance on Jonathan Ross, I don't know if you've all heard the rumors too but they say that she did that because she didn't like Jonathan Ross at all, she thought he was a prat when he was interviewing her so she gave a mocking performance. I don't see the sense, but it does make sense in the way that I've never seen her that bad before. I saw her supporting the Pussycat Dolls (the things you do for friendship) and she was good.
