Well, let me put it this way.
If I were posting about a cabaret of mine, I would not post it on this Board.
Well that would be your loss. For the record, none of the BWW community in advertising their appearances in shows or cabarets or even hosting a show tune karaoke at a piano bar, have used the off-topic board.
Well, good for you, thes. I'm really sorry that this thread has ruined your day by being on the main board. But, I was here when the Off Topic board was created, thus I recall why it was created.
I think anyone doing a show in NYC should be allowed to have a thread about them or that show on the main board. The theatre scene is much greater than Broadway and Off-Broadway.
There, does THAT title make it ON-topic?
I am always ON topic!

I vote to keep Jerby ON-TOPIC! He's a Broadway star to me.
Broadway World covers Caberet, concerts and special events. In addition to Broadway and off and off-off broadway shows.
"Broadway" is a term that carries the meaning "theatre related" and is FAR greater than Broadway or off-Broadway shows.
I have looked through all of the posts on the main page and this is one of possible 5 that really are "Broadway" related in the truest since. It is also one of the few worth opening.
Congrats Jerby. I will be there.
To any one who was concerned that this might be sold out, I hear there may be a few seats suddenly available since Jerby just dropped a few notches on the respect-O-meter.
I meant to ask, darling, will there be a point in the show where you take requests? Because I want to hear "You're there, Blanche" from "Baby Jane."
Just so there's no confusion. There's nothing wrong with someone posting about their gig on the Broadway board if it's theater related.
If Jerby was going to post about a powerpoint presentation he was giving to physicians in Colorado, he'd have to put it on the off-topic board.
New audio clips!
And, I thought I would share a couple of things that will be new for this version of the show (aside from the usual revisions and polishing):
1. Adding a drummer
2. a new piece called "You Might Be Addicted to Theatre Message Boards If..."
3. a greatly expanded opening number
Calvin, you have my mind buzzing at whether or not it would be possible to work in something about Baby Jane. I'll dig through my script and see if I have any of the music.
New Audio Clips
Woo hoo!
Actually, I liked the song that Edwin Flagg sang somewhere in Act II. I can't remember the name of it.
Oh gosh. I can't either. I forget shows once I leave them. I'm one of those people who has to reviews his lines every Tuesday before the show. I go a day, and I just know I forgot something.
I still have the recurring nightmare that I'm about to go on for a show with a script that I hadn't seen until that night and am trying frantically to memorize it before my entrance. And that's kinda weird, because I haven't done any show in years, except for a staged reading where I didn't have to memorize anything anyway.
:)
3 weeks away!
I still want to cry because I cannot make it.
If that's not the definition of a punim, I don't know what is.
jerby... if I could be there, I would be there at every show. Alas, I can be at none. You just need to bring your show to Seattle.
