jajajaajaja
as for the ny post thingy,
1) i didnt know racist was a noun (im pretty sure its not)
2) i love the use of words on this article "evil epistle"? journalism is definetely in decadence
3) they should put a metal detector at the stage door
4)to the sick person who wrote the letters: WAKE UP! THE SEGREGATION TIMES ARE OVER, PEOPLE CAN MARRY WHOEVER THE HELL THEY WANT
i hope nothing happens to these guys, they seem like a nice, regular actor couple...i cant believe a fan (because i mean come on, who knows who idina and tayye are if u dont know rent/wicked/broadway in general) would go to such extents...
is it possible its someone they know who has a grudge??
if anything, im glad these guys are using this as a photo opportunity, stupid sicko person just gave them the best thing anybody can give an actor: free publicity

"1) i didnt know racist was a noun"
Yup. A person can be a racist, therefore it can be a noun.
"stupid sicko person just gave them the best thing anybody can give an actor: free publicity"
True. But I don't think either of them need it. (Esp. Idina. I mean, Wicked's not BEGGING for people to buy tickets!)

i watched all the different news reports and wb11 actaully spent a good amount of time on it. some of them rushed thru it so fast. fox five was like "coming up a broadway star recieves some "wicked" letters." what a not so funny joke but really a hint to which play. when they interview jennifer laura tompson on wb she really had no idea, i think, of what to say. i bet she was caught off guard but what can you do.
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it,
but all she really dreams is to make someone
else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer.
And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

YES, i did waste 15 minutes watching the news when i could have been doing my homework. what i mean is that there was no point in watching it because there was no new information from the ny post/newsday articles.
WHAT DID JLT SAY??
is there anything new this morning? i'm in school... my english class got cancelled and i can't find a newspaper...
EDIT - ughh bell just rang. i'll be back on around 6... if someone could answer my questions i'd really appreciate it, thanks

To address the first point, MOST people know Taye from television and movies. Here or there you'll find people (not theatre people) that know he started in Rent and met Idina there but Taye Diggs was more of a household name than Idina Menzel (before the Tony's and before the coverage the threats have received). Plus, recently, they've both been doing a lot of television appearances and mentioning one another, so no, not necessarily does this make the person a fan. Not saying they couldn't be but to assume only people who know Broadway know of them or at least of Taye isn't a correct assumption.
As to the extents the person is going to... There are people to this day that still roll their eyes at interracial couples, go up and say things to them, taunt them, treat them differently and not to mention what their children may go through at times... so though this is terrible, there are many people who to this day find themselves in situations like Idina and Taye...nice regular couples as well... and since this is being considered a hate crime, this type of messed up behavior and mentality is a common thing throughout the threats, so these "extents" are not new at all---back in the old days, they didn't just threaten, they blew up the places.
Personally, I think it's horrible that Idina and Taye (or any couple in their situation) has to go through this. As to her leaving the show early, she can't "run" her whole life from this. There is always going to be a jacka$$ who will disapprove of that marriage whether white, black, green, red, yellow & etc and the best thing for them both to do is go on with their work and their lives and show those types of people that their twisted mentality doesn't bother them.
Beka, they asked JLT questions like what she felt about it and etc. I don't remember exactly what she said but it was to the extent that it's horrible that they would have to go through this, that it's not something that she and Idina have talked about because it's not something that shoudln't have to be talked about it.

I really admire that Idina is still going on with the show, snaps to her for being super brave! Best of luck to her and Taye!

It's much more interesting news than most celebrity news. J-Lo and her butt - So? Britney gets married - So do lots of other people...and? J-Lo and Britney get divorced - Besides the fact that it is no surprise, why does anyone care and why do the press want us to care? At least the Idina/Taye thing regards an informative topic of importance. Knowing that racial intolerence is still a majro problem in this country is a major issue. Knowing who celebrities are dating is about as useful to our country as a Clapper is to a cat.
