In her entry, she refers to working scenes with Paul -- One of the understudies for Jimmy and Graydon. That 'Paul' is Paul Schaeffer. Now let me tell you, if was Jules, I would be rehearsing with that man every day and would intentionally screw up ever scene involving a kiss. That man is very, very attractive. Hmmmm. I shall have to get tickets for two performances -- one to see Matt Cavenaugh, and another so that I can lock Matt and the other Jimmy cover in a closet so that I can see Paul go on. It's a plan!

She is young actress in her first major show and she hasn't been jaded by the business and she is very sincere. It has nothing to do with reading a great, groundbreaking memoir. It is about reading about a young actress in her first big show. Give her a break. You guys on that other board are way harsh and said things about her that were VERY rude and uncalled for. Please don't bring that attitude here.

No one 'reveres' her, people just find it interesting to read an 'as it happens' account of someone gearing up for their first National Tour. It's not an attempt to be literature or a historical documentation, it's an attempt to give us a certain perspective to look into the business from in something close to real time, instead of being wrought with hindsight or historical second-guessing.

It's supposed to be fun.

Why would anyone "slam" Juliana? Why, Robbiej? What has she done to deserve being slammed? If you don't like her journal (which I asked her to do) don't read it. Or do you get "off" slamming nice people? I do "revere" Juliana, and I revere her because she is a treasure of a human being - down to earth, not full of herself, decent, genuine, warm and loving. I discovered her when she was in high school, hired her to sing on my albums and have watched her progress. I just don't get people like you, robbiej, unless you are just a frustrated performer who'd like to be doing what Juliana is doing. We didn't want a "serious" piece of literature - we wanted something chatty and fun and "her" - and she delivers that in spades, bucko, whether you like it or not.

Can someone please tell me the board where Mr. Robbie posts his "slams" - I'd like to pay a visit and perhaps do a little slamming of my own.

Well. The board is no longer there. And by slam, I mean I poke fun at her writing and what she writes about. I'm sure she's a doll. And I'm sure you have a very good reason for liking her. Hell, if I ever get the chance to work with her, I'll probably like her too.

But when you choose to put your words out there for the world, people will have opinions about them. And I have every right to comment, poke fun and satirize them if I so choose. I could even be downright mean, although I don't think I have been.

I do find what she writes compelling. It reminds me how self absorbed ALL early-20something's are (be they men, women, actors or not). I'm not bitter, I'm not frustrated (I barely stop performing). I've just gone through the whole 20's thing and can look back and laugh. At myself...and at everyone else. And if I see it in someone else, and that person is putting it out there for the world to see, then I will poke fun.

I'm glad she's doing it. Lot's of people are enjoying it for many reasons. Just like lots of people will enjoy or hate the many performances she's going to give in her life for many different reasons.

Well, BroadwayGuy, people HAVE. And you deal with it and you get over it. And sometimes you even say, 'Hmmmm...do they have a point?' That's what ya do.

I've also stated I find it compelling to read over and over again. So telling me to not read it won't do any good.

I was just wondering why people raised this girl on a pedastal, free from any criticism. No, I realize, criticism of those that the others like is not welcome.

So, I'm done discussing Juliana...here. I will continue elsewhere. Just disappointed that tolerance for opinions, even very negative ones, is not shown here.

Ya know, the other board could be rough sometimes, but every single person was allowed to express their opinions and defend them.

Again, for clarification BG2, they didn't take the board down because we were "rude" about Juliana. It was a technical issue. I guess we all make up scenarios to get us through the day.

The site did not "get sick of it" and shut down. Whether or not you meant about "jules", the reason the board got shut down had NOTHING to do with their members. (I asked) Don't need you starting crap about WHY the board is gone now. Just be happy, as you are and get on with it. "We" had to deal with "you" coming over "there" so deal with "our" right to be "here"!

just for the record, I have never "slammed jules". Not here OR "there". Don't really care one way or the other. I just wanted to make it clear that the board was NOT taken down because Paul Wontorek was "sick of us".

She writes the entries as often as she can. We were, in fact, behind on getting them up for various reasons, but we're almost caught up with what she's sent so far. She will continue writing them all throughout the tour.

Robbiej, darling, no one has a problem with you expressing opinions - but if you do so, then others can express theirs right back at you, and you will like it and take it. And it's funny how opinions differ - you find that her twenty year old self is full of herself - I find the opposite (and, of course, I know her). Again, while you can criticize her writing style until the cows come home, it is meaningless criticism because this isn't about writing style or literature - it's an expression of who she is. But, read on MacDuff. By the way (BTW, in Internet lingo) - your picture looks rather like Joyce de Witt. Is that the look you are going for?
