Posted: 11/7/04 at 6:10pmI got completely tongue-tied infront of Gelman from Regis and Kelly while he was doing a question-answer thing with the audience. He's not a music theatre guy, but it was still horrifying!

Posted: 11/7/04 at 6:10pmI was late for work, so as soon as I reached my stop, I jumped out of the subway and started running up central park west by 81st street... Ran straight into Jerry Seinfeld, literally crashed into him as he was coming out of his apartment. I looked up and was like, oh, s***!

Posted: 11/7/04 at 6:23pmMy friend Sara was telling me that she was at a party at Cathy Rigby's house and fell down and whacked her head on a wall. It's not MY story per-se, but I think its funny.:)

I have a few, unfortunately.
1.) Talking to my friend about how Julie Andrews had one too many facelifts - and she heard our entire conversation, I was mortified.
2.) I was late for work and walked really fast out of a Starbucks and opened the door very fast and I smashed into Mary Louise Parker, and I was like "SH*T, I'm sorry."
I'll post more later, gotta run.

Posted: 11/7/04 at 6:44pmi have a few, not many. when i saw dracula the first time, i was waiting before the show for autographs...tom entered and signed my poster, not before i said "oh, hey, youre the rocky horror guy." at wicked, before the show, JLT walked right by my friends and i and waited for one of us to ask for her to sign. then, one of them looked at their watch and said to her "do you know what time idina gets here?" Posted: 11/7/04 at 6:52pmI saw Rent with two friends. When Mel B. came out, there were hundreds or screaming fans. Mel was having a hard time signing everybody's stuff, and my friend asked her to sign not one, but two Playbills. That was embarrassing for me, because there were a bunch of other people who really wanted it and didn't get, and he wound up selling the extra on eBay.

Posted: 11/7/04 at 7:00pmi can understand the desire to, but it really isn't fair to the other people there, and not fair to the stars who take all of this time to sign for so many people and then it gets sold. that's doing them an injusstice!

This wasn't me, but during MB and LN's second run in "The Producers," once MB signed our Playbills and walked past, the woman next to me told her daughter, "And I heard he was so unfriendly!" which he heard. He tured around to question her but she got all embarrassed and afriad. Crazy big mouthed lady....
...he is slightly unfriendly, though. :-/

I love telling this story. When "Jekyll and Hyde" first opened on Broadway, I saw it a few months into the run (if I knew how much I'd love it I would have seen it sooner). Anyway, Robert Cuccioli was awesome, and I waited outside the stage door to meet him after the show. But he was taking a LONG time to come out, and I wanted to run over to a theater shop and get a souveneir before it closed. So I did, and by the time I came back, Cuccioli had already left. I was sad.
Several months later..."The Scarlet Pimpernel" opens on Broadway. I see it soon after its opening, wait at the stage door, get the autographs of Douglas Sills et al, then start heading back to the parking garage. The Plymouth Theatre, where "J&H" was playing happened to be on the way, and as I was passing the stage door, Robert Cuccioli happened to be there sigining autographs. Being about 15 at the time (wow, this was over 6 years ago!) and a total dork, I ran up to him excitedly and asked him to sign my "Scarlet Pimpernel" program. "What," he said to me, using his "Hyde" voice, "You want me to sign 'The Scarlet Pimpernel?'" Well, he did, signing it, "I'm not in this show--Robert Cuccioli."
The fact that I got a story out of it made getting the autograph worth the wait!

I saw "Jekyll and Hyde" with my mother when Cuccioli was in it. She remembered him from a stint he did on "All My Children" and started asking him if he was still dating some character on the show as a joke. He just looked at her like she was crazy.
And whe I saw LSOH last winter, I finally got to see Hunter and turned into an absolute bumbling fool. Oh well...

I have two very funny (IMO) stories of how stupid I am in front of famous people (from b'way)
1) I was in a workshop a few years ago at the Kennedy Center, and Stephen Schwartz was there for the read through to critique it, etc. So when I was introduced to him, and told me I looked farmiliar, and asked if I ever did stuff in New York. I said no, and told him he looked farmiliar as well, and if he has ever done anything in Rocville (Maryland-where I do alot of local stuff.) He got a good laugh.I was so young and unknowlegable! :)
2) My second embarassing story was this past summer. I was an apprentice at Ann Reinking's Broadway Theatre Project, and Desmond Richardson (of Fosse and Movin' Out) was one of the masterclass teachers. Anyways, I felt sick that morning, but Iwent to his class anyways. We were warming up on the floor, and I felt like I was going to throw up, so I went up to him, and apoligized and asked him if I could run to the bathroom. (SO I wouldn't have to tell him I was feeling sick and needed to throw up.) He was like "Could you please wait until after my class to use the bathroom?" and I said "Well, I kinda need to throw up!" LOL i was sooo embarassed, and he said "Oh my god! I'm so sorry, feel better." wow I felt like such a loser! haha

My two worst moments have occurred in airports...one time about a year ago, I was speed walking to get to my gate and I saw Hugh Jackmann a few feet away. I was just mesmerized at how gorgeous he was in person and I walked into one of those cart things.
Another time this summer, I was at LaGuardia airport, returning from a visit from a boyfriend I had just broken up with that weekend. Well I was on the phone with my best friend and I had had a stiff drink and I was telling her how right after I told him I wanted to call it off, he suprised me with tickets to Wicked. So I was complaining about wanting to shoot myself and having to sit through it with him (using some choice words) and I finally looked up and Kristin Chenoweth was sitting right across from me...I felt so awful (I think it was right after her last performance) and I explained it was the situation I hated and not the show...and she just laughed and said she understood. And then I inserted my foot into my mouth
