I always just called them Wickedites.

"My question is: Why does there have to be a name for Wicked fans? Why can't you just ask: "Do you like Wicked?" and leave it at that? Can we spell overcomplicated?"

You're new here, so I'll forego the smart ass answers begging to be made. There was a time, not so very long ago, when it seemed like every post, and every thread, and every screen name had to do with either Wicked, Kristen, or Idina. Which in and of itself would have been tolerable, but a large number of the obsessive fans seemed to be oblivious to the fact that there was other theater to be seen besides Wicked. Entire threads were devoted to "do you think Kristen will perform tonight?" and minutiae such as speculating whether Taye and Idina might be thinking of starting a family. Then there was the infamous and never-ending discussion about whether or not the lead actresses were "professional" since they had developed a disturbing habit (much beloved by many fans) of dissolving into giggles and breaking character at a moments notice. Oh, and no historical perspective would be complete without at least mentioning the oh-so-hot topic of whether Idina REALLY slapped Kristen while she was wearing the rhinestone-studded neck brace or whether it was merely a stage slap. Oy.

ANYWAY, that's probably NOT what you were asking. Things don't seem especially out of control anymore.

And just to be clear, lest I sound like a basher.....I saw Wicked and liked, but didn't love it....but would consider going again to see Jennifer Laura Thompson as Glinda (if the price was right) because I thought she was terrific in Urinetown.

J-La is amazing. She's vocally stronger than Cheno, in my opinion.

As for Elphie fans, how about "phosphorescents"?
