true, there is already several Peter Pan musicals out there. But this one sounds like it could be really new and exciting. they have 2 tracks up so far. I really like the sound of the song Neverland.

I'm a big fan of new versions of PP, but I have to say that the "Neverland" track for this production was really awful. Ugh.

And is Peter played by a woman again? When is someone going to trust that role to a boy? The play makes so much more sense that way.

Maybe you really like the sound of it because YOU (or your lover?) wrote it. It's something to consider...

How does Peter Pan not make sense when Peter's played by a woman? It's not like she's playing it feminine. She's still supposed to be a boy.

I don't have a lover, and I'm not a writer.

I just love new musicals. And I like the sound of this one. You can have your own opinions on the music though.

as far as having a woman play the role or not, I don't know what they plan to do. Ask them.

These two songs don't work for me at all! The score sound like "Wicked"-wannabe. And that's not a good thing.

I don't know why people are giving this a hard time... it's not a show aiming for Broadway... it's a show comissioned by a Theatre for Young Audiences and the music, for what it is, is really great. I have heard many shows written for kids that just sound awful and this is tuneful, the lyrics make sense and have moments of being clever, and it's better than not inroducing young people to theatre...

Peter played by a male? I saw a production of PP at the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake, Canada a few years ago that was a disaster. Peter was played my a mature make complete with chest hair and a visable 5 o'clock shadow. He only wore a covering jacket when he had to have the flying harness. All the "children" were played by adults with no attempt to make them look like children. In the final scene the lost boys were all dressed as business men on the way to their jobs. The set looked like London during the blitz. It was a complete travesty of Peter Pan. The mermaids were almost topless with only netting on their breasts.

I wouldn't be surprised if the original poster was a writer. They seem to be awfully 'in love' with Beck & May - two writers that do not have a reputable or respectable credit to their names. Odd don't you think?
