Aside from the 'goofy' plot addiction, things appear to be falling into place.
Discuss....
Hmmm, should that stuff in the beginning been mentioned?

Its still wierd to think that the film is only about a year away...
Roger drives a Mustang? Okay...wow...
TGIF, tell what car YOU pictured.
And yeah. I don't believe it's actually happening. AT ALL. Whenever I hear about it, I have to slap myself and remember that it's actually happening... with the OBC, nonetheless.

Can you buy a Mustang for the price of a guitar...?
Well, unless you have a REALLY expensive guitar and a really crappy Mustang, then nope.
Interesting... the most fun thing to me, though, is that I'm sure the script has changed and is still changing. Who knows how it will end up, and I'm not saying that in a negative way. I might as well post the article I came across today as well. Note the paragraph at the end:
Potter producer moves on to Rent
LOUIS B. HOBSON, CALGARY SUN
HOLLYWOOD -- Chris Columbus has left the magical world of Harry Potter for the mean streets of New York. Columbus, who directed the first two Harry Potter films and produced this year's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, will write and direct the film version of the Broadway musical Rent.
Rent, which won a Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize for drama, looks at a group of artists and junkies living in the shadow of the AIDS epidemic.
"I think people need to see a movie about tolerance and acceptance whose message is that we must live life to the fullest," says Columbus, who wrote the holiday movie Christmas with the Kranks.
Though pop stars like Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Knowles expressed interest in starring in Rent, Columbus chose to cast several of the stars of the original 1996 Broadway production.
Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp will reprise their roles of the rock musician and struggling filmmaker while Wilson Jermaine Wilson will once again play the drag queen angel, the role that won him a Tony Award.
Taye Diggs the star of TV's Kevin Hill was cast as Angela Bassett's young holiday lover in How Stella Got Her Groove Back when director Kevin Rodney Sullivan saw him in Rent.
He and Alexander's Rosario Dawson are the two biggest names cast so far in Rent.
"We'll film some exteriors in New York after Christmas and then film all the interiors in a studio in San Francisco in March," says Columbus, who promises Rent will be ready for next December.

I really want this to be good... I've already made my non-musical loving friends promise to come see it, and I will be so embarassed if it's not good. Plus I'm afraid if it sucks, then this whole musical movie trend will die out.

Well, something in there must have changed his tune. And I think I know who leaked the screenplay...

If Roger's guitar was a Gibson 1932 it would be worth 15,000.00 enought to buy a car.
'He and Alexander's Rosario Dawson are the two biggest names cast so far in Rent.'
Hm. Not sure which way to take that... What are they expecting bigger? Or are Anthony and Adam not good enough or something?
Anyways... thanks for sharing the articles
Glory, outside of musical theatre, hardly anyone knows Adam. People are slightly more familiar with Anthony because of his film work, but Taye's a way bigger name.
Oh, and I think Roger's guitar is a Fender.
I am SO excited for this movie. I don't even know how to express it! :)
"I think it was the Korean tour or something. They were all frickin' asian!" -Zoran912
As am I. God, this year Phantom......next year RENT. There is a God.
spider, i couldn't agree more!

Can't wait for the RENT movie. And spider add to those two, The Producers in 2005 and Hairspray in 2006, which are in pre-production !!!!!
Well, when I first heard it was being filmed on the West Coast I was a bit nervous, but this sounds like it could be something pretty good. I'm so glad they are using the OBC (wishing Daphne and Fredi were in it as well).
