hi kids. ok, so i have 2 house seats for this Sat.'s WICKED matinee. they just fell into my lap. (i caught ms. menzel in it in late Nov. and had a good time.)
i just checked the WICKED site. can y'all fill me in on the new people?
how is: Shoshana Bean? David Ayers (Fiyero)? Jeffrey Kuhn (Boq)?
Joey MacIntyre must have JUST left? (no biggie, if that's the case, 'cuz he didn't thrill me.) And I liked that Fitzgerald as Boq. Is he gone for good now, or on vacation? What's the
deal-io?
Can y'all fill me in on these three, please? Grazie.

and anyone heard how these 2 new guys are? anyone sen 'em or know their prior work?

Posted: 1/12/05 at 12:59pmshoshana is incredible. Her voice brings the house DOWN!...I haven't seent the other two (Jeffrey and David), so I can't speak about them, but seeing Shoshana is amazing.

I don't think their portrayal is that different. I thought Idina's emotions were more 'visible' than Shoshana's (Idina got angrier, sadder etc) whereas Shoshana doesn't quite go through these emotions in my opinion.
I'm not a big fan of Shoshana, having seen her four times as Elphaba now. I think someone on the ATC board summed it up for me... she's just lacking the 'wow factor'. Her BIG notes are a lot softer and she tends to overact even more than Idina in the big numbers (You can only see arms in her No Good Deed, for expample).
Anyway, people love her and it's just my preference. I'd day she's a good Elphaba but certainly doesn't bring the house down for me. But then again, as so many people said 'the role is the star', so no matter who plays the role people will love her
