I am seeing next to normal the Saturday matinee after the Tony Awards, and want to meet the cast, especially Alice, at the stagedoor afterwards. My only problem is that I have to get to dinner at Becco on 46th sometime around 5:15. What are the chances that I would have enough time to get signiatures and get to dinner on time? Also, for those who have stagedoored for matinees, has the cast usually come out to sign? Thanks!

When I saw the show in early previews, the entire cast came out relatively quickly, but make sure you're one of the first people to snag Alice, she's quite chatty! Even though there were only maybe 20 people at the stage door, it took Alice probably 25-30 mins to get through everyone.
One reason Alice takes a long time is that she signes her name in kind of 3D block letters that take her awhile to accomplish. And she is more than willing to talk and answer as she elaborately works on your Playbill. I asked Aaron if he would be in the show when I see it on June 14 and he told me he would be gone for sure.

You're joking, right?

Mats are touch and go. Sometimes people will come out and then go back in and sometimes not at all. I saw 9 to 5 last weekend and evreyone but Alison Janey and Megan came out. Saw evening performance of Next to Normal and Alice went out another exit because it was too cold for her. I was really disappointed because everyone else came out.
My theory with stage doors is hope for the best!
Also you can sometimes catch actors going into the shows prior to it. I met Rupert Everett and he took time to sign and chat. You may want to try that as well
I saw the 4/25 matinee, and everyone came out to stage door and stayed for a good amount of time. They were all incredibly sweet and humble, more than happy to sign and take pictures. My friend and I actually asked Alice Ripley why she had decided to sign in bubble letters, and she said that after years and years of signing playbills, she barely even recognized her signature anymore, so she decided to do bubble letters so that people could read it. She was such a sweetheart and stayed the longest of the entire cast.

No. She said she does it because she was tired of her old signature and wanted to do something different. She suggested it was actually easier to read her name this way.
I saw the matinee on this past Saturday, everyone came out and was extremely nice, by 4:55 I was gone from the stage door.

When I stagedoored during previews everyone was out and done within 30 minutes after an evening performance with maybe 15-20 people at the stage door, so I think you'll be fine.
I saw N2N again yesterday and it was a beautiful day in the city. Everyone came out to sign after the matinee. I have to say that EVERYTHING that everyone is saying about Alice R is true. She was one of the nicest people that I have ever met. I had mentioned to her that I saw the show a couple of weeks before and that I had waited to get her signature (I had everyone's on Playbill except her) She actually apologized and said that she had a bit of a cold and the producers asked her not to go out and risk getting sick. She posed and chatted with my roommate and I and yes she signed the Playbill with her famous bubble style. I then went to see a friend who is in 9 to 5 and say hi. After a while I walked back thru Shubert Ally and AR was STILL there signing and chatting with people. She was the only one left. A total class act! And so is the rest of the cast. The only people I have seen this good with fans was the original Spring Awakening folk
