Posted: 7/30/04 at 1:15pmI heard there is nudity and no one under the age of 18 will be admitted.
re: nudity in Dracula#4
Posted: 7/30/04 at 1:24pmNo, you're thinking about "Brooklyn."
re: nudity in Dracula#5
Posted: 7/30/04 at 1:26pmreally? cool
re: nudity in Dracula#6
Posted: 7/30/04 at 1:29pmFrom a marketing perspective that would be REALLY stupid -- Wildhorn's audience skews younger.
re: nudity in Dracula#7
Posted: 7/30/04 at 2:25pmFrom what I've heard Melissa Errico has a brief "Janet Jackson moment"... so yes, there is nudity. Updated On: 7/30/04 at 02:25 PM

not sure how accurate his quote about the show was though lol
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
re: nudity in Dracula#9
Posted: 7/30/04 at 2:32pmWell, when I saw it in La Jolla, the female vampires flew through the air wearing somewhat see through silk or something like that. They weren't just stark naked, but it may have been changed for Broadway I don't know... but, I don't see how they could fly naked since they need to wear a harness...
re: nudity in Dracula#10
Posted: 7/30/04 at 2:34pmThey're mostlikely in a see through body stocking of some sort if that's the case...

Posted: 7/30/04 at 2:35pmI really need to see this now, if thats the case.
The opposite of creation isn't war, it's stagnation.
re: nudity in Dracula#12
Posted: 7/30/04 at 2:46pmI saw the show in La Jolla and there was no nudity. Some of the female vampires were in very skimpy costumes....but nothing really showed.
re: nudity in Dracula#13
Posted: 7/30/04 at 3:18pmI hate wearing clothes.

Yeah really. All these naked women. Where are the men?!?!
re: nudity in Dracula#17
Posted: 7/30/04 at 5:35pmI remember both Dracula and Jonathan having their shirts ripped open... it's a very sexual production. It doesn't surprise me they are including nudity for Broadway...
re: nudity in Dracula#18
Posted: 7/30/04 at 6:04pmYeah, Dracula (Tom Hewitt) and Jonathan Harker (Darren Ritchie) rip open their shirts and Mina (Melissa Errico) and Lucy (Kelli O'Hara) have very brief moments of nudity. Contrary to CJR's friend, the vampire girls do NOT fly naked or even in body stockings. They are in long diaphanous gowns. You can see the designs on the Dracula on Broadway website.

Posted: 7/30/04 at 6:39pmNudity can also be a very SMART marketing thing. People want something dark, dangerous and risk taking. It's the most contoversial movies out there that are making all the money. NC-17 ratings are very appealing. It can work in this case to. If people knoew there was nudity in this show, they will come for it. "No one under 18" posted is bate fore many. It will separate it from all the other shows on Broadway right now and that a really GOOD marketing idea.

"NC-17 ratings are very appealing."
Not at all. In fact, the major studios will not release NC17 pictures because many theater chains refuse to exhibit them. Even Neil Labute re-edited Your Friends and Neighbors so that it wouldn't have an NC17 rating attached.
When was the last time you saw a movie released theatrically with that rating, bbe?
re: nudity in Dracula#21
Posted: 7/30/04 at 6:51pmSo when the new John Waters movie(what's it called?) is released it won't get a huge crowd of people wanting to see it for an NC-17 rating. How many people fought to get into see a movie as bad as SHOWGIRLS because it was NC-17. NC-17 = dangerous and exciting and "pushing the envelope." It's like what they teach you at auditions; find something, anything, that will make them remember YOU over someone else. The one Broadway show that has "no one under 18" posted under the title on a show listing will get an extra eyebrow raised. I gurantee you. This can be a very SMART move. It's differentiation. Posted: 7/30/04 at 6:52pmDidn't "YOUNG ADAM" have the NC-17...I think it did

Yes. But what WAS that movie?
Showgirls was rated R when released theatrically.
The "extra footage" video release was NC17.

..um...I am tired..what do you mean about your question?
Just because "YOUNG ADAM" didnt play to full capacity houses doesn't mean it wasn't a good movie. You asked about the last time a movie got that rating, & that movie did
