Yes, you're right. And I am really out of the loop on movies (and have started to see things from a Dollpop perspective). What I mean was, back when the NC17 was invented, it was supposed to guide parents away from movies that were stronger than an R but not an X. While it caused a bit of sensation for Henry and June when it was released (Fred Ward, yum) the big studios will not release a movie with NC17 ratings.

My point was that the NC17 rating is not very appealing.

I think L.I.E. was released with an NC-17 rating. Or maybe no rating, if that's possible.

actually namo...showgirls was released with the Nc-17 rating...and when it went to video...they made a rated r version for places like blockbuster who wont rent out movies like that...not that it matters...it was bad..with or without the nc-17 rating.
