Posted: 11/27/05 at 1:54pmI actually saw her do it on tour...She was great! But for some strange reason, I much prefered Barbara Walsh doing it.

Posted: 11/27/05 at 1:56pmI adore Walsh in the role too. Barbara Walsh used to underwhelm me, but she's grown on me recently.

Posted: 11/27/05 at 2:03pmI think she tends to have sometimes a very cold presence on stage...Or so she seems to me. She didn't in FALSETTOS, but I've seen her in other things and wasn't that impressed, but she blew me away in FALSETTOS.

A second for Finian's Rainbow (Irish Rep.) with Melissa Errico, Malcolm Gets, Max von Essen, and the wonderful duo of pianists Mark Hartman and Mark Janus.

There are two scheduled for release soon that I would highly recommend:
DESSA ROSE by Ahrens and Flaherty, with LaChanze, Rachel York, Norm Lewis and a fabulous ensemble (due out Dec. 13)
SUMMER OF '42 by David Kirshenbaum and Hunter Foster, also with Rachel York and a very strong supporting cast
Another fun off-Broadway cast recording is JOHNNY GUITAR. It spoofs a 1950s cult western of the same name that starred Joan Crawford and Mercedes McCambridge. It's a hoot.
