"The first time I saw the show, Butz's shtick kept reminding me of movie funnyman Jack Black. This time I just admired Butz's infectious sense of humor and incredible stamina."
"You KNOW Audra will make an incredible Margaret in about 10 years. She should also play Dot in "Sunday..." some day if they do a revival on Broadway."
Brilliant!

Donna Murphy as Dot in Sunday In The Park With George or Blance in A Streetcar Named Desire. Jane Krakowski as Mabel in Mack & Mabel (she played the role in LA, and she was fabulous), or Fay in Anyone Can Whistle. Ruthie Henshall as Carla in Nine. Mary-Louise Parker as Alice in Closer (perhaps she's too old for the role already).

-Mary Testa as Domina in Forum, but that already happened. -Norbert Leo Butz as Bobby in Company -Audra McDonald as anyone in anything. (And her Mergaret would be magnificent!)
Jessica Simpson? On Broadway? As Amneris? As in a role Sherie Rene Scott had done beautifully? No thank you...
Roger Bart- Lumiere (sp?) Beauty and the Beast Christopher Fitzgerald- well...I can see SO many parts he'd be great for. I wonder why he isn't out there more. He's got such a great, loveable voice. I think Raul Esperza would make an interesting Phantom..but I wouldnt want him to degrade himself with a show that's kind of going down the dumps
There are more. Ill think of them.
"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."
Sutton actually understudied Eponine on Broadway in 1998, and went on to the play the role on the Third National Tour from 1999-2000. Since we're on the topic of 'Les Mis,' a friend and I had discussed hypothetical casts for the new company, and decided that both Jenn Gambatese and Celia Keenan-Bolger would be great Eponines; Laura Benanti would be a beautiful Cosette; I always thought Liz Callaway or Susan Egan would have done a good job with Fantine...both are certainly more typed for the role than Daphne Rubin-Vega. Random, but Lauren Kennedy and/or Leah Hocking as Amneris in 'Aida,' Kate Shindle as Elphaba in 'Wicked,' Sutton Foster as Louise in 'Gypsy,' Gertrude in 'Seussical,' and/or (I second) Fanny Brice in 'Funny Girl.' I could go on forever...oh, and for the record, Jennifer Hope Wills was a contendor for the Clara replacement in 'The Light in the Piazza,' which was ultimately filled (and I don't understand why) by Katie Clarke.
OMG Jessica Simpson?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! i think i just barfed. i see what you people mean about mandy he does have to much energy i just thought his voice and bring him home would do well together. what about anika noni as sara in ragtime or cheno as either evelyn nesbit or mother in ragtime or aurdra in anything ever written but maybe Julie in show boat. bebe nuewirth (sp) as cassie. bernadette peters would be awesome as ms lovet. I think it would be halarious to see harvy firestein as heby in ggypsy
Not only can Jack Black sing - as evidenced by his well-delivered comedic song performed with Will Farrell on the Oscars a few years ago, but it appears that he can dance as well.
During his entrance on a recent Late Show With David Letterman appearance, on impulse, he did an honest-to-goodness pirouette and it was a great one. Not a great one for pudgy comic, but a great one for anybody.
OH! Bebe could pull off Cassie in ACL very well Good one, StephenSondheimWHOO

"THERE'S A SPECIAL KIND OF PEOPLE KNOWN AS SHOW PEOPLE... WE'RE BORN EVERY NIGHT AT HALF HOUR CALL!"--- CURTAINS
Brittany Murphy as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
Murphy has the perfect vampy look for Audrey, but having heard her sing... she can't vocally pull it off in the least. She'd be better suited to a role like Charity in "Sweet Charity" where she can play off her personality and charm and not have to worry about the vocals..
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
