^ Scrap that idea. I forgot he's a bass.
He's played Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, so he could probably play Dr. Frank-n-Furter.

Angela Lansbury as the Old Lady in Sunday in the Park With George. I'd love to hear her sing "Beautiful".
Stop looking at my charisma.

Since Sweeney everybody mistakes him as a bass. Listen to Assassins to hear his tenor. And Titanic too.

Carolee Carmello as Mother in "Ragtime"
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Sarah Gettelfinger was BORN to play Lola in Damn Yankees.
Kelli O'Hara as Julie Jordan in Carousel
Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mark in Rent
Hunter Foster as Mark in Rent
Danny Burstein as Max Bialystock (He's not as "big" as the typical Max, but I think he could definitely pull it off)
Sherie Renee Scott as Julia in the Wedding Singer
Beth Leavel as Muriel in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
And a random thought: could Sarah Silverman pull a Stephen Lynch and be in a musical weith LOTS of comedy, ie Avenue Q and Wedding Singer?

Larisa Oleynik as Louise in Gypsy.

I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

As these may all be wishful thinking, I'd like to see Hugh Jackman singing a different role every night for one week --
*Rodgers and Hammerstein's Billy Bigelow
*Sondheim's Sweeney Todd
*Lloyd-Webber's Phantom
*Boublil and Schonberg's Valjean or Javert
*Mencken's Gaston (or the lead in LEAP OF FAITH)
*Lerner and Lowe's Professor Higgins or King Arthur
*Leigh's Don Quixote de la Mancha

I'm waiting for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to come to Australia so that Anthony Warlow can play the John Lithgow role. I think it's perfect for him, he has the suave thing down and he's really hilarious so he could definitely handle the comedy.

ok, don't flip out anyone, but...
I think listen to the OBC recording of into the woods
Idina Menzel in a few years would makea fantastic Witch, its in her voice, plus she is quirky, comanding and slightly dark, and she is also hauntingly beautiful. In a movie version of it she would rock.

Sutton Foster - Cathy, The Last 5 Years (Imagine her "Still Hurting"... incredible. And how hilarious would this "A Summer In Ohio" be?) or Amy in Company
Michael Arden - Jack, Into the Woods
Raul Esparza as Jamie in Bright Lights Big City (with Mano Felciano as Michael? C'mon, the resemblance is KILLER.)
Christian Borle - Burrs, The WIld Party (Maybe in a few years. I can see him in the Lippa version...)
Allison Fischer - Amber, Hairspray

Helen Mirren as Desiree in ALNM
I'm not sure how well she can sing, but I think she'd also be wonderful as Mame. She has a joyfulness about her that's underutilized.

That's exactly what I said in my Wicked Casting Game...but everyone attacked me like rabid dogs...
Usher would be a fabulous Elphie. I can just see him tossing his hair in Popular.
...just kidding

I think I'd LOVE to see Kelli O'Hara as Kathy in TL5Y. She is so versatile that she just did an ingenue then a leading lady, so why not Kathy? I think it would be a great change. I can't imagine her singing any of the songs though.I don't know if she's MADE ofr the role, but I'd like to see her. Plus, who would be Jamie?
See, with Celia being cast as Eponine, I thought that was amazing. I can almost hear "On My Own" in my head.

What is with Sutton as Evita?
I dont see it.
Sutton can do anything. That girl could play Tevye and I wouldn't care.
