pre-show arrivals 9to5

quick question

I went to see 9 to 5 last Saturday matinee, and Allison Janney didn't come out afterwards, I was hoping to try to catch her before the show on Friday, any idea as to when they normally arrive at the theatre before an 8pm curtain?

Any time before 7:30.

But its really rude to stalk before the show. Er...um...I mean stage door. She's on her way to work. She has to report in by a certain time.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Mail her your Playbill with a SASE or hit the stagedoor after the show another night. I would assume most actors when arriving for the show are just looking to get inside and prepare.
Also, I've seen bigger names, like Janney, being dropped off by their car before a show wearing sunglasses and b-lining for the door, avoiding eye contact. You would need to literally shout to them or cut them off to get their attention and that is rude. To disregard social cues such as sunglasses or avoiding eye contact is creepy and stalkerish.

Don't wait to hound them for their autograph before the show. Not only is it rude but it comes off as you trying to stalk them at their place of work. I remember hearing a story about how someone tried to get Lea Salonga's autograph prior to a performance of Les Miserables and got an earful from her. Might I say rightly so.
