previews

As someone very excited about Legally Blonde the musical over here at last,I was just wondering what the difference between previews and the actual run. I always though that the preivews ment they may not be perfect shows as they are still cleaning up the perofmances, but then someone else said it was just a short run through some of the songs.

Also on last minute.com is therea a way of finding out which seat you have been given before paying? I dont want to hand over £40-£60 per ticket and find myself stuck right on the end of an aisle

re: previews

When a show has previews its the full show it just means they have time to alter anything that is not working in the show etc before it officially opens for the press to review. It just gives the show chance to become the best it can be.

Legally Blonde is an established show in the US so they wont really be changing so much, it will be things like certain jokes and lines that they will check how they land with a UK audience.

When you go to a preview of a brand new show the show can constantly be changing (ala Gone With The Wind) so you could watch the monday preview and then the friday preview and notice that 3 songs and 4 scenes have been dropped for example.
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

re: previews

You are watching a paid dress rehearsal where things are cut, tightened etc etc, prior to the London and national critics seeing it.
It is basically a work in progress until the last 2 or 3 previews.
A preview can be stopped and started as many times as the producers and director see fit.
