Posted: 6/25/07 at 2:07amI just wanna take this moment to ask, after reading the costume points in that review, has anyone else noticed that every single character has something from Dolce and Gabana on them? Several of the men are wearing the same DG belt. There are necklaces and lapel pins and everything. Everyone has something....Why do you all think that is?

"And if someone still hasn't seen Company at this point, I doubt one more gushing review is going to lure them back in the last week."
I have not seen Company at this point because I'm an underpaid teenager living in Suwanee, GA, but that review alone is enough to make me hate my situation even more (the show is closing on my birthday; imagine how ****ty I felt after the closing was announced). If I lived in/near NYC, I would totally have rushed out and bought the best ticket I could for any of the upcoming performances, no matter how much money I had to scrounge up to get it.
So thank you, rOcKs, for your thorough review. It is greatly appreciated from this end.

Sponsorship of some sort? I dunno. I hadn't noticed it on the women, but the guys' belt buckles are pretty obvious if you sit close.
He almost always cries during Being Alive. It was cool that people stood for him, but that was nothing compared to the performance after the Tonys.

Yeah that was just... insane.
I just love watching him watch Barbara Walsh perform Ladies Who Lunch. That's usually when he starts to cry - Bruce's performance during that scene is also great
That was funny when he said it was a very snotty performance yesterday, hehe

how funny, I've never noticed - Raul Esparza's suit is Armani, I believe.

Wonderful review, rOcKS, though I have to disagree about Stanley as well. I thoroughly enjoyed her performance as April, particularly during "Barcelona."
I was yet another BWW member who attended the show yesterday. I did student rush yesterday, and it was my first time seeing the show. I walked out of that theatre unable to form a coherent sentence for about thirty minutes or so. A purely brilliant production with equally brilliant actors. Every single one of those talented men and women are phenomenal. Even the pretty, little white butterfly fluttering around the theatre thought so.

The butterfly was fun. He'd randomly go by during a scene.
I was partial to whoever sneezed and brought up the first light cue- thanks!

Posted: 6/25/07 at 2:28pmThe butterfly was really irritating...it dive-bombed like five people in the audience.

Aw, I thought it was pretty.
And somehow ironic.

That's exactly what I thought, Emcee. Quite ironic and lovely.
I didn't hear the sneeze, but that sounds too perfect. I did, however, hear Raul make a "tsk" noise at the high-pitched 'background music' at one point. His face was adorable.

Posted: 6/25/07 at 4:19pmYeah, what was that weird prolonged beeping? It didn't sound like a phone, but more like a weird, high-pitched ring.

Oh good, I wasnt the only one who heard that. That was really annoying.
The entrance sneeze made me laugh. Gotta love live theater

Hm, I didn't hear anything like that, obsessed. Then again, I didn't even know that there were people surrounding me during that number. Barbara Walsh is that incredible.
And I'm glad that I'm not the only one who was bothered by the high-pitched noise. So annoying.

I was there on Saturday evenings performance. I was sitting directly front-row center.
Not much more I can add to the already glowering praise for the show, except to say that it truly is one of the best revivals I've seen and one of the few I think daring enough to do such a radically reimagining of an already beloved musical.
Great stuff, and I'll definately be picking up the cast album (whenever I get money that is).
