Anyone who saw Hedwig would say that Anthonys vocals/acting blow Adam out of the water.(I saw him in Aida) Everyone always thinks that the nasal sounds he uses in Rent and Charlie Brown is the way he sings. But that is wrong. Those were both character voices. His singing is crisp and flawless. Not to mention his thrilling acting.
Anthony all the way.
Anthony all the way.

What for? They are totally different. Why compare them and for what purpose?

'at the stage door he (Anthony) is so quiet and shy and awkward'
Awkward? I always thought he is one of the nicest, loveliest guys you can meet. He is wonderful with his fans, spends a long time with everyone. Or is he not usually like this?
Also, I agree with Mister Matt, both are SO different. Why compare them in the first place?

Both are incredibly different and talented and I love them both to pieces. I go for the nerds, plus i just absolutely love his voice, so my vote is definately for Anthony, As for being shy and awkward at the stage door I didn't find that to be the case at all. Last time I went to see him it was to his straight play, Private Jokes, Public Places and even though there were people waiting for him to go out with them, he took as much time as I wanted him to to sign all my stuff (personalized everything too) and took all sorts of pics. He is the sweetest guy!

Much as I want to shamelessly plug for my man (like he needs it...) QM and Mister Matt are right. Adam's vocals are kind of hard to compare to anyone's, and he still is a musician before he's an actor. He's gotten much, much better, but you can still tell. Anthony's acting does surpass Adam's - very easily. I posted this, and you all know that Ilove Adam more, but it's hard to say who's "better."

Adam. At least he's yummy to look at. Frankly I don't think either one are terrific on the OBC album.
So my dear you think you can get to Broadway. Well, let me tell you something. Broadway has no room for people like you. Not the Broadway I know. My Broadway takes people like you and eats them up and spits them out. My Broadway is the Broadway of Merman, and Martin, and Fontaine, and if you think you can build yourself up by knocking other people down... ...GOOD LUCK... Seinfeld

I don't think it's about your post being pointless. It's just that it's hard to compare when there's no frame of reference. Are we talking about the voice? The acting? Stage-door behavior? =/
If the question was: "Who should play 'the son' in Nocturne? Rapp or Pascal?" That might help. (And the correct answer to that question would be Anthony Rapp.)

Rapp. Pascal is completely talent-free. At least Rapp can act, and sort of sing.

"Pascal is completely talent-free."
WHOA!
Normally I'm not one to resort to lashing out on things that I don't agree with, but is such a harsh comment quite so necessary? "Talent-free?" Oh boy... I suppose that'd mean that anyone could pull of one of the single most difficult roles on Broadway, yes? Perhaps it's just (still) not a good day to square with me over things regarding Adam. Still, please. Give it up.

Clearly I'm in the miority on Adam, but I just don't see the talent at all. Maybe I'm missing something, but while I think he's a very generous person, I don't find him to be a particularly talented actor or singer. Now, his dancing is another story. =)

You've got to be kidding! If I'm going to admit the one thing that Adam isn't wonderful at, it's dancing. It's hysterical.

I dunno... that leg thing he does is kinda.... unique.
(Didn't see him do it too much in AIDA, but in RENT sometimes I thought his legs were going run away from his upper body).
Seriously, I love his voice.

I cannot and will not choose. They are Apples and Oranges. Thats like comparing RENT to DRACULA. Who do you enjoy better is one thing, but you cannot compare either.
"however adam is extremely hot and younger and has more of a 'rock' style voice... and hes very polite at the stage door"
FYI-- i think adam is a year older than anthony. I dont know if you were trying to say his voice sounds more youthful or something along those lines, but i thought i might point that out.
I have both their CDs and they are polar opposites. I like anthony's and love adams. But that is because i like his style more. Anthony has more of a traditional, trained voice and Adam has that natural raw talent. I saw Adam in CABARET and AIDA, and Anthony in PRIVATE JOKES. Anthony is the superior actor, there is no doubt in my mind, but i have a weak spot in my heart for Adam.
Stage door: I met both. PhanFare and I met Anthony after Private...he was very personable and so outgoing. We were the only ones to stay after. I think he was surprised when he found out that the reason we went was to see him and we heard about it through his website. He was like "really?!?" As PhanFare said, he posed for many pictures and personalized everything without us even asking. Even asked the correct spellings of our names. Adam is also great - and he puts up with alot. :) I have one word for you SPORK. haha. But he his very sweet to and very outgoing. I have heard alot of horror stories with him at the stage door, back in the RENT days of people following him home on the subway etc. I could see him being more stand-off-ish, but he isnt and i think thats great.
In conclusion, they are both great. I would really like to see Anthony come back to Broadway - its been way to long. And even though Adam's only been out of work for 2 days now, he better get his butt back here.

Ok, I was about to give you a piece of my mind but that post redeemed you! I have no problem with people not liking Adam's style. It is a unique style that is not for everyone and I believe most of his fans realize that and respect others for their tastes and opinions. What i do NOT respect is people being rude or saying negative comments without backing it up with any reason. Talent-less? No. Unique? Yes. He has the natural raw talent that he is slowly improving on (i.e. where he was when he was in AIDA, then in Cabaret, the back to AIDA - heard there was MUCH improvement acting wise). But if someone doesntlike adam... MORE FOR ME!

If there is one performer I do not like in the Broadway community, it's Adam Pascal. Hands down.
So, Rapp wins it for me.
