Here is the link to the NY Times.
You will be missed dearly by many people and remembered because of your personality and talents forever.
A very sad day in musical theatre.

A great artist...
She and Adolph Green did some incomparable work, the likes of which is becoming rarer and rarer.

The obituary in The Times said the score from "Do Re Mi" was not up to Comden and Green's usual standards. Most writers on Broadway would kill to have songs with lyrics as witty as Adventure or Waiting or Legitimate. And the words for "All of My Life" (gee, wonder why I mention that one?) break my heart every time I hear them.

She was a true original. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

crap! Bettyyyyyy! I was just wathcing ON THE TOWN today, as a matter of fact - and actually thought about her the other day while I was driving. don't ask me why, but she corssed my mind. i thought, what's betty comden been up to lately?
well, sadly - this answers my question today of which would be the third celeb to pass away. first the other day, ruth brown. then robert altman. and now poor Betty. i am so bummed.

A legend has passed. We were blessed to have known her talent.
On the Town, Billion Dollar Baby, Wonderful Town, Peter Pan, Bells Are Ringing, Do Re Mi, Subways Are For Sleeping, Hallelujah, Baby!, Applause, On the Twentieth Century, The Will Rogers Follies...
...plus the screenplays for Good News, The Barkleys of Broadway, Singin' in the Rain, The Band Wagon, It's Always Fair Weather, and Auntie Mame.

Posted: 11/24/06 at 9:42amShe had been ill for quite sometime. For me, she and Adolph Green were the quintessential New Yorkers -- and the cutest couple I have ever seen -- even though they weren't really "a couple". I have AN EVENING WITH COMDEN AND GREEN cd set and it is always a delight to listen to --even for the 78th time.

I just felt like playing the bonus tracks on the Wonderful Town revival cd. I especially love her version of "Wrong Note Rag".
She will be missed!

Posted: 11/24/06 at 1:41pmRIP to a true Broadway Legend and condolences to her family and to the Broadway community. What a loss! It's so sad to think about how few of the talents from Broadway's golden age are still with us. I will have to put on my Subways are for Sleeping recording today and listen to Betty and Adolph singing on the bonus tracks.
