NO WAY! Absolutely not - that would be terrible. That's literally the worst suggestion I've ever heard.
Dont mean to sound rude or nasty - really, but that would never EVER work, and is a terrible thought....

No, I don't think it'd be good at all. Although I'd love to hear the entire score intact, I'd also love to hear how they revamp it however they're going to, it'd be interesting.

I think it may have been a joke. Do you actually think they should use the same tracks from 1996 in the film of 2005? Wow.

O ohk.
I for one hope they do stick to Larson's score as close as possible. But then, there will be some changes, it's inevitable, so of course they will have to rerecord the entire score. And the music will probably be reorchestrated as well.

and in addition to any changes in the music, something needs to be done to record the changes in the individual performers' voices. nine years can do a lot to a voice, for the better or not, as the case may be. plus, time isn't really a huge issue, imho.

Posted: 11/28/04 at 9:26amyeah..it was a stupid idea. their voices are much different, and there will prolly be new orchestrations. but bronxbound- i was not being a theatre snob- in fact, i don't care for rent that much so i wouldn't caree if they didn't stick with the stage version so closely.

Anyway I cant wait to hear Idinas new take on the "moo" thing...
I also cant wait to hear everyone singing their songs again and seeing how they change things around. It'll be interesting. I know Adam has sort of a new soung with glory now and I can't wait till it's recorded again.
