I agree about not limiting yourself because of height. If it makes you feel any better, Drew Lachey from the music group 98 Degrees is only 5'6", and he was on Broadway a couple of times. He played Mark in Rent and Patsy in Spamalot. He too is a baritone like you.

Oh, I certainly don't LET it limit me, it sometimes just does. And I'm not sure about wearing lifts, I think that would be deceitful during an audition, especially if a costume would not allow me to wear them.
Keep the suggestions coming! I'm sure they're helpful to lots of other people, too. If you guys want an idea of how I look/sound, my yt usernames are bwaylvsong and mattcansing.
"Actors in general, are a lot smaller than you think".
You are a brilliant observer, if that came out of Jane Krakowski's mouth on 40ROCK, you would win an Emmy.
Really, the line has a thousand shadings.
Congrats.
I have worked backstage at the MET and I was suprised at the stature of many of the singers, talent always wins out.
If you have the voice and acting chops,
size is just a number.
Can you sing Tobias in SWEENEY?

Technically, yes, but it doesn't really fit my voice.
Yeah, I think I have a better chance of making it in opera, but I just plain don't love it as much as I love MT.
If Norbert Leo Butz has played it, you can play it.
Farquaad = SHREK

Looking at NLB's ibdb, he's played quite a few romantic leads. That's incredible!
Thanks for the tip, dramarama! I never would have guessed that...
Okay, so now we have roles we can play. Now what about women interested in dating us?

Don't know much about girls, but as a short gay male I gotta say I love short gay men and I'd date you all! IM's are welcomed! =p

Lol I'm not even ashamed to admit that I've never been on a date. Girls see me as a little brother.
