no one mentioned mostel???? wow, thats one of the most famous roles ever created, im glad you thought of it wickedfan.

and i really disagree with that mention of kerry buttler as audry. she has a nice voice, but ellen greene was "the audrey" hands down. she created a character that i dont think anyone has been able to re-create as well. i love her performace in the movie (too young to have seen the orininal off-bway version) shes just so great- that belt comes out of nowhere and it is... well, great

haha, funny thing about that. I took two of my friends to the final matinee of Cabaret, and there were big pictures of all the Emcees lined up inside. One of my friends saw the one of Neil Patrick Harris and grabbed my arm and said "oh my god! What did they do do Doogie Howser?!?!" Then my other friend saw John Stamos and was like "Oh my god! Uncle Jesse!!" I didn't know what to say to that, so I was just like "No guys definitely not Doogie Howser and definitely not Uncle Jesse. That's Emcee. Just wait like an hour. You'll see." They were so disturbed by those two playing such a different role.

Oh, and NYstateofmind, someone did mention zero mostel, on the second page of the thread I think.

has everyone else's broadwayworld radio played "schroader" from good man charlie b three times in a row?
