can i just say, a Broadway theatre named after a COFFEE house would not bother me in the least bit.
my 2 obsessions all in one, what more could a gal want?

Seriously, if we have the Cadillac Winter Garden, the Hilton Theatre the Starbucks Theatre could be on the horizon.

the important question is, would the seats be purple velvet? cuz you know, i could deal with that.

Starbucks is a pretty big supporter of the arts actually and I know the starbucks on 51st is looking to have live music / performances in their store to appeal more to their patrons and be involved in their community.

I think it's a smart step for Starbucks.

What if they bought it and just named it Starbuck's Eugene O'Neill. That still gets their name across. It would have some pretty good snacks during intermission, even if it was jacked up to $6 for a cup of coffee.

Or Starbuck's Stage at the Eugene O'Neill theatre like with sports. You have the field named after one person or group and the stadium named after another

I really don't care, and I don't think that Starbucks cares whether or not I care. Lets me reasonable here. They'll do it or not. Is it going to stop you from going to see shows? Well, if it is, then it's a shame, but the money backing Starbucks brings more audience then the few grumpy people that want everything named after theatre pros.

Gosh I hope it's a joke..that would be SUCH a shame. Coffee is coffee! Let it be coffee! Not a theatre! Give credit where credit is due...TO O'NEILL..not to COFFEE

Yeah Starbucks is already taking over the world. I also love how I'm typing this while sipping a Vanilla Creme from Starbucks and staring at some labels of it in the face. Well either way, the name and logo belong on the coffee cups and little baggies...not the front of a theatre.

i don't think they should serve it inside the theatre. at all.

they would never be able to get through the line by the time intermission was over. the smell of coffee would take over the theatre (not a smell everyone enjoys). the drinks that are served are not the kind of drinks that should be brought into a theatre.

i hate the way people are now allowed to bring soda, candy, popcorn, etc into the theatre. i remember when i was a kid that was NEVER allowed. when i saw hairspray in chicago last winter, people were walking up and down the rows at intermission yelling WATER, CANDY, POPCORN! i felt like i was at a baseball game!

horrible. it makes me want to PUKE! if you cant sit for 2 hours without stuffing your face, you have a serious problem. if you want to bring in a bottle of water- fine. you don't need to bring your soda or wine in. you don't need to be eating popcorn and chomping on your milk duds. this isn't the local AMC 20. i know the theatres want to make money, but seriously.

and we wonder why other countries think we are pigs.
